Mark Pukalo has been a sports journalist for parts of five decades after graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1985. He spent nearly 20 years with the Hartford Courant, covering several NCAA hockey and soccer final fours, PGA Tour events, the 1994 Men’s World Cup soccer tournament, the 1999 Women’s World Cup soccer championship, MLS and NHL hockey. Mark was beat writer for the Hartford Whalers from 1995-97 and, after moving to Florida, he also spent time writing features for the Tampa Bay Lightning website.
