Iowa, Iowa State Athletics Investigated for Gambling Issues
The Iowa Regulatory Commission on Gambling is busy investigating the state’s two biggest collegiate athletic programs.
On Monday, Action Network reported the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball program was being investigated after multiple players were held out of games in a series last weekend against Ohio State.
Hours later came news that Iowa State was being probed because 15 of its current student-athletes — across sports such as football, wrestling and track and field — have had “online sports wagering allegations” that go against NCAA rules.

The news comes the week following an investigation into bets placed in Ohio on an Alabama-LSU baseball game that led to the firing of Crimson Tide coach Brad Bohannon.
