Live Betting Weekly: Heat Stay Hot in Fourth Quarter
NBA live betting at BetUS Sportsbooks continues to draw a crowd thanks to the excitement and potential for quick profits. With the extra attention in-play betting is getting, I wanted to go over a couple of upcoming events rife with live betting value.
While it’s impossible to predict the future enough to make picks on live betting lines, we can offer some information to help make the right choice.
Heat vs Celtics Game 7
It all comes down to this game for the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. The winner goes to the NBA Finals, while the loser will be on the golf course this weekend.
The Celtics have already done something that only three other teams have, forcing a Game 7 after being down 0-3. None have been able to win Game 7, but the Celtics are seven-point favorites on the NBA odds board to make history.
While the Celtics are busy mounting a potential NBA first, the Heat are winning the fourth quarter in scoring and defending.
In the Celtics previous three games, despite going 3-0, Boston is 1-2 in the fourth quarter against the NBA spreads and on the moneyline.

A lot of Boston’s struggles late in games during this series comes down to the Heat’s stifling fourth-quarter defense. During the regular season, the Heat allow the second-fewest points in the fourth quarter and lead the NBA in fourth-quarter defense on the road.
While this doesn’t help a ton when making pregame bets, fourth-quarter stats are very relevant when looking at live NBA lines.
Boston also has strong defensive numbers in the fourth quarter, so not only are the Heat a good wager, but also the total to go under.
Athletics vs Braves 3-Game Series
It’s no secret that the Oakland Athletics are a terrible team. They are so bad that I recently wrote an article on how they can potentially lose the most games in MLB history.
There are many reasons why the A’s are a terrible team, from their league-worst offense to a rotation that couldn’t pitch its way out of a paper bag.
In terms of live MLB betting, however, no stat is more glaring than their bullpen ERA of 6.50. With just four saves on the year, the A’s bullpen is by far the messiest in the MLB and well-worth fading on the in-play MLB odds.
The Atlanta Braves are a perfect candidate to take on the A’s bullpen as the league leaders in 8th-inning runs per game. With an average of 0.85 runs per game in the final frame, Atlanta crosses the plate more than ¾ of every 8th inning they play.

Against a trash bullpen like the A’s have, betting against Oakland on live MLB lines is a great way to exploit the worst team in baseball. The A’s allowed an average of 1.67 runs in the 8th inning over their last three games, which is terrible. They also allow the second-most runs in the 8th in the league at 0.87.
Oakland’s closers are a mess, but I will be ready to bet against their bullpen in the 8th for our MLB live betting purposes.
