Amanda Serrano made history by becoming the first undisputed Puerto Rican champion. With the win, Serrano also punched her ticket to a rematch with Katie Taylor. The boxing odds should once again be close even if Taylor is favored. But inspired by this, there are many more matchups we’d love to see in women’s boxing. And they can all be made within the next 12 months.
Let’s check the latest Boxing news, stats, and Boxing lines. We’ve got plenty of Boxing picks for you to consider.
Best Women’s Boxing Matches to Make for 2023 and …
1. Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron
Taylor has her hands full as she looks to turn Serrano back a second time. Should she defeat Serrano again, another “superfight” is in store for Taylor. Chantelle Cameron has called out Taylor before. Instead, the super lightweight champ defeated the undisputed welterweight champion in Jessica McCaskill.
As big as Taylor-Serrano will be, this could be the biggest fight in Europe for women’s boxing. Both Taylor and Cameron are undefeated and the “Ireland versus England” theme to this will only add more intrigue. The boxing lines should favor Taylor if this fight were to happen, though Cameron will have her fair share of bets online.
2. Amanda Serrano vs Alycia Baumgardner
Before Serrano won all of her division’s titles, Baumgardner did it first. The undisputed super featherweight champion beat up Elhem Mekhaled to continue her hot streak. Baumgardner is rapidly becoming one of women’s boxing’s biggest stars as she’s got both the fighting style and swagger.

A bout between Baumgardner and Serrano would be bonkers. Both are highly offensive boxers who pack plenty of power. Win or lose against Taylor, there is enough glamor to make this fight for Serrano. Of course, it would be even bigger if Serrano upsets Taylor. Either way, just imagining this bout is exciting in itself.
3. Marlene Esparza vs Seniesa Estrada 2
There is no love lost between these flyweights. The two originally fought in 2019 and Estrada won a technical decision partly due to the fight-ending cut suffered by Esparza that was caused by their inadvertent headbutts. Since then, both boxers have beaten everyone in their path but have had opposing views on a rematch.
Estrada welcomes it but Esparza has also said Estrada “may not want it”. It may just be posturing on both sides but this rematch seems inevitable. Given women’s boxing is at its peak now, the time is right.
4. Terri Harper vs Natasha Jonas 2
Speaking of bad blood and rematches, Harper-Jonas 2 should happen within the next 12 months. Whether at lightweight or super featherweight, these contenders could settle the score to determine who fights Baumgardner or Taylor, or gets a title shot. Their first fight, which was historic as it marked the first time two British women fought for a world title, ended in a controversial draw.
Since then, both Harper and Jonas have traded barbs and have been on a tear. Their only losses have come against Baumgardner and Taylor, respectively. The two can rematch and be a perfect co-main event for the next big British boxing card, specifically the Taylor-Cameron match.
5. Claressa Shields vs Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino
No boxing list is complete without Claressa Shields, the “GWOAT”. While she may return to the MMA cage this year, she needs a high-profile boxing match to make it worth her while. She’s defeated practically every top contender across light middleweight and heavyweight. But hear this out: A cross-sport megafight with Cyborg.
The Brazilian has dabbled in boxing again and, like Shields, has cleared out the top contenders in Bellator MMA. This boxing vs MMA match can be the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Conor McGregor of women’s boxing.
The online sports betting lines will install Shields as a large favorite, though Cyborg could be good enough to make it entertaining.
