Big Boxing Events on Tap
Ringing in Big Month
There are some big boxing fights scheduled in July and our boxing predictions expect fireworks.
The sportsbook has odds for all the biggest fights in July, including Maxi Hughes vs George Kambosos Jr., Stephen Fulton vs Naoya Inoue, Errol Spence Jr vs Terence Crawford, and Alejandro Santiago vs Nonito Donaire.
It’s a stacked month and boxing picks will be available. As well explore a variety of other boxing odds here to win!
Kambosos’ Career on the Line
Australian Kambosos Jr was once the IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight champion after beating Teofimo Lopez, but his career has since been derailed.
After consecutive losses to Devin Haney, the 30-year-old needs to pick up the pieces against Hughes, but according to the latest boxing news, he has been preparing well.
“I had three mega fights in 11 months. I was able to sit back and reflect on things I was not doing right and become a better fighter,” Kambosos said. “I’m sharper, more explosive, bigger and stronger. I’m excited to showcase myself on July 22. It will not be a win, but an emphatic statement.”
Sport betting markets have Kambosos at -330 to score a much-needed win. Hughes is a solid fighter, but class is with the former champion.
The Pride of Japan
Naoya Inoue is a quality boxer who currently holds a raft of bantamweight titles.
The Japanese superstar contests the WBC and WBO junior featherweight titles against Stephen Fulton later this month, and online gambling markets don’t have too much between them.
We were surprised to see Inoue at -350. He’s still the commanding favorite, but given that the fight takes place in Japan, we envisioned his odds around -500.
We’re not discounting Fulton (21-0) from causing an upset, but Inoue is the better boxer, and having the home crowd cheering for you is often enough for the Japanese boxers.
“I have absolutely nothing to be anxious about,” Inoue said. “As the challenger for the first time in a while, I’m as fired up as I’ve ever been.
“My work is going well. I’m handling the preparations. I think super bantam is the best weight for me.”
The July 25 fight is expected to be watched by millions, and it could be an early shout for Fight of the Year.
Spence, Crawford Meet
Considered one of the best pound-for-pound boxers of all time, Terence Crawford is the favorite to win the four-belt welterweight fight against Errol Spence Jr.
The 35-year-old Crawford is 39-0 with 30 wins coming by knockout, and all eyes are on this fight. It’s one of the biggest fights of 2023, and it should be outstanding.
Spence is a worthy opponent for Crawford. He’s 28-0 following a TKO win over Yordenis Ugas, so he has beaten some quality fighters.
However, the +135 underdog hasn’t fought someone like Crawford, who, at -165, has attracted plenty of attention from bookmakers.
If the Inoue vs Fulton fight attracts big viewership, Crawford vs Spence could match it.
It will determine who the best welterweight fighter is, and bettors get generous odds for their favorite Boxing fight.
