Most Anticipated Boxing Superfights
Mayweather-McGregor 2 Not on the List
Rumors are swirling that we will see a sequel to the cross-sport boxing “super fight” between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor. Nobody asked for this and we may see it anyway. With this in mind, we thought of other “boxing vs MMA” super fights that would be more intriguing. In fact, some of these already have boxing betting odds.
-
Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou
It may never happen — at least, not in the near future. But talks of a heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou continue to run rampant. “The Gypsy King” has continued to call out Ngannou, who is sidelined due to a knee injury. The champions are fighting to crown the deadliest person on the planet. Fury is the 7-1 favorite on the sportsbook.

-
Jake Paul vs an Actual MMA Striker
Jake Paul is set to box Tommy Fury later this year. Fight fans finally get to see Paul face “a real boxer” — albeit one just as green as he. This is but a diversion from Paul’s ongoing feud with Dana White and UFC fighters — the YouTuber-turned-boxer has called out the who’s who of the promotion. He’s already knocked out a former champion but a bout against a legitimate striker would be more enjoyable.
-
Nate Diaz
Outside of McGregor, Diaz has the staunchest fanbase in combat sports despite having a middling record. Diaz will be much smaller than Paul but is the betting favorite, surprisingly. Still, the Stockton native has near-inhuman stamina and durability and should give everyone a show if the fight does happen.
-
Anderson Silva
Another name tossed around is former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva. The MMA fighter has found success inside the boxing ring, having even defeated former WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Should this fight happen, Silva may just garner bets online. He will be significantly favored over Paul.
-
Jorge Masvidal
Desp”ite being on a three-fight skid, Jorge Masvidal’s name garners enough recognition. The UFC’s “BMF” champion is renowned for his ability to mix it up and holds the promotion’s fastest knockout record. Paul also has a habit of picking on fading fighters so he may want to take on Masvidal now that he’s vulnerable. The odds should favor Masvidal, though.
-
Taylor vs ‘Cyborg’
Katie Taylor could be rematching Amanda Serrano later — or so we hope. But the undisputed lightweight queen could also book a fight against Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. Cyborg has won championships across most major MMA promotions and is not slowing down. Taylor should still be favored here, though Cyborg could hold her own.

-
Shields vs Nunes
Another big boxing vs MMA fight pits the “GWOAT” Claressa Shields against the MMA GWOAT, Amanda Nunes. Shields and Nunes have both flirted with the idea of fighting each other both in the ring and in the octagon. It may never happen, but the two continue to dominate in their respective sports. Nunes lost her 135-pound belt against Pena but remains favored in the rematch.
-
Paul vs Tyson
Last, but not least, is a prospective fight between Paul and former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson. Talks of the two boxing in an exhibition are on. Paul is slightly favored to win this match as Tyson is 55 years old and has been retired, professionally, for over 17 years. While Paul will be much younger and faster, Tyson can still crack.
