British championship boxing hasn’t looked so damn good in a long time, and as I boil the kettle, prep my cup of tea, and munch on a crumpet or two in my beautiful country this weekend, I’ll struggle to contain my excitement as Riyadh Season makes its debut in the UK with an absolute banger of a fight card.

On that note, let’s jump straight into my weekend boxing parlay bet, as I’ve coupled two of my favorite plays from the Joshua vs. Dubois to build our bankrolls with plus money value.

2 Boxing Parlay Picks This Weekend

1. Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois: Battle of Britain Main Event

It’s confirmed: Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois is sold out, and a swarm of British fans totaling 96,000 will break the British boxing attendance record at Wembley Stadium this Saturday. It’s the stage that AJ is used to, but Dubois, still young in his career, might have another battle, one with pressure, ahead of the biggest fight of his career.

That said, we never expected an all-British championship fight between Dubois and Joshua where the former would be the defending champion. After ‘Dynamite’ was flatlined by Joe Joyce in 2020 and then against Oleksandr Usyk in 2023, a lot of us began shi* talking about his potential.

Fast forward one year, he’s coming off back-to-back TKOs, including a career-defining performance over Filip Hrgovic, where he proved he could overcome adversity, took some serious blows, and still came back to win the IBF title via eighth-round stoppage.

While the respect and opinion on Dubois have changed in the last twelve months, can he really defy BetUS boxing odds this weekend when faced with a rejuvenated, more calculated version of Anthony Joshua we’ve ever seen?

Bet This Pick: Anthony Joshua Moneyline [-400]

Why the Moneyline Makes Sense

Let’s cut to the chase: Dubois must throw his technical game out of the window and headhunt AJ for the best chance of success. Playing the long chess game against the larger, more technical, sound boxer won’t work in his favor, so we should expect him to seek a firefight early on.

This is where I genuinely believe AJ could be in trouble, but he’s undeniably displayed a more clinical version of himself lately, thanks to coach Ben Davison. We saw it in the Wallin fight, where AJ could’ve pounced for a finish, but instead, he waited, remained patient, and let the knockout arrive naturally via technical supremacy.

Yes, there is a world where the pressure and the 96,000 in attendance cause Joshua to firefight and punch himself out, but we must judge AJ on what we’ve seen lately, and it’s more likely that his string of combinations, size, and speed advantages will see him take the dub.

Here’s why the moneyline is my boxing pick: I envision the first three to four rounds will be conservative; AJ will control the pace behind the jab, and at the end of each round, he’ll let loose. In the middle rounds, I expect Dubois to realize he’s losing, and he’ll leave himself open to loosen his guard; this is where Joshua’s power will begin to take effect. Then, in the championship rounds, the accumulative power strikes behind AJ’s beautiful combinations will see him collect a KO/TKO stoppage, potentially with the referee’s intervention.

  • Joshua is riding a 4-fight win streak with three knockouts
  • Joshua has significantly more experience versus elite-level opposition compared to Dubois

2. Mark Chamberlain vs Josh Padley: Don’t Underestimate the Dog

Critics, fans, and Mark Chamberlain will overlook Josh Padley, which will be the downfall of those expecting a quick, early blowout.

With Turki working alongside Matchroom, Chamberlain is all but guaranteed to fight Denys Berinchyk for the world WBO lightweight strap, and with his eye looking beyond Saturday’s bout, it’s the perfect contest for Josh Padley to put his name on the map.

With an empty Wembley stadium, around 4 PM BST, the atmosphere and lack of big-fight feel will also factor in Chamberlain’s lack of excitement for this contest as the night’s second bout. Padley, however, is receiving the biggest opportunity of his career, and although he lacks the elite experience of his opponent,

Bet This Pick: Chamberlain vs Padley Over 4 ½ Rounds [-115]

Why Bet This Total Over

We should focus on more than just the technical aspect of this fight because the variables have the ingredients to provide a less-than-perfect performance by the undefeated Chamberlain. Don’t get me wrong; he’s a -2500 online betting favorite for a reason, and he will win this contest, but it won’t be a fast finish like most anticipate.

Expect Padley to deliver spirited and inspired effort as Chamberlain’s focus looks beyond his weekend opponent. The latter will win, most likely due to his championship experience via late stoppage.

Chamberlain has been perfect for so many fights. Finally, he’s looking at number-one contender status. However, he’s fighting a fellow unbeaten opponent who always comes to win, and this will be a tough fight for the favorite in the early goings, thus sending the total over 4.5 rounds.

  • Neither fighter has lost a professional boxing bout
  • Padley has seen over 4 ½ rounds in 11 of his previous 12 pro bouts
  • Chamberlain has seen over 4 ½ rounds in 4 of his last 7 pro bouts

Question of the Day

What’s the co-main event for Joshua vs Dubois?

Before Joshua and Dubois compete for the IBF heavyweight strap, two bidding middleweights do battle in the co-main event when Tyler Denny and Hamzah Sheeraz compete for EBU European gold.
