- Angelo Leo and Luis Alberto Lopez compete for IBF featherweight gold this weekend, but Mexican bloodlines are never easy to knock out!
- Bryan Flores and Lindolfo Delgado clash in an all-Mexican co-main event position, but a durability factor could well be the best betting approach.

Having received a consensus alias of ‘Road Warrior’ from boxing enthusiasts is cool, but maintaining such a nickname and then taking a world championship defense to a hostile location is something else!
That’s precisely what Luis Alberto Lopez will do this weekend as the defending featherweight titleholder walks into the backyard of Angelo Leo in New Mexico. It’s a highly anticipated championship bout that places ‘El Venado’ in his fourth title defense in just over a year.
The penultimate clash of the evening also involves plenty of Mexican heritage, as fellow countrymen Bryan Flores and Lindolfo Delgado cross paths in the co-main event. But more importantly, I’ve coupled my favorite bets for these epic fights and formulated the perfect parlay with a punch to assist your weekend boxing betting needs!

2 Best Boxing Picks to Parlay This Weekend
1. Lopez vs. Leo: Iron Chins Unite
When Luis Alberto Lopez steps into the ring, expect fireworks, and Saturday’s main event title defense won’t be any different. The Mexican IBF champ is a savage in the ring, and his unorthodox approach to the sweet science is always backed by brute force behind his punches.
What’s interesting about Lopez’s weekend opponent, Angelo Leo is that he’ll be happy to box wherever and whenever. Whether he’s trading in the middle, against the ropes, off his backfoot, or forcing the pressure, ‘El Chinito’ is game and an incredibly worthy challenger.

Mexican Pride
Can Leo scare a few punters backing the juiced Lopez moneyline? He certainly can, and don’t be surprised if he steals a round or three. Unfortunately, I don’t believe he owns a favorable style to outwit the champ across 12 rounds.
Styles make fights, and this bout is a stylistic meeting to the core. Lopez is menacing on the inside, and behind a steal jaw, he has no problem taking a few to land a few more. The downside is that he’s not really a knockout artist.
This doesn’t suggest he’s a weak puncher, but he is not a ‘knockout artist.’ The same can also be said for Leo, who isn’t a brutal power puncher by any means but can still crack with the best of them.
My boxing prediction? The champ will successfully defend his belt, but the iron chins of both men, paired with the fact they aren’t knockout artists, will send this contest over the total and make for the perfect first leg of our parlay.

2. Flores vs. Delgado: More Mexican Durability on Display
Before Lopez and Leo compete for championship gold during this weekend’s boxing event in New Mexico, a ten-round clash precedes the title bout when Bryan Flores and Lindolfo Delgado put their Mexican pugilist roots on display while attempting to stake their claims at challenging for 140lb strap.
This all-Mexican rivalry is compelling because somebody’s 0 has to go. With both fighters defending an unblemished pro record, we will witness a pair of aggressive punchers putting it all on the line in front of a crowd guaranteed to be filled with El Aguila Real nationals.
In the underdog betting position, Flores will be overlooked due to his tendency to get knocked down in his fights, but the boxing betting odds don’t consider this man’s remarkable ability to return from knockdowns and still win fights.
Delgado is a savage in the ring. You’d never want to underestimate his power, with 15 of his 20 pro career wins coming inside the distance. However, when these two go head-to-head, with only ten rounds to finish the job, it’s difficult not to view durability and toughness as one of the leading factors that make these fighters so difficult to defeat.
Parlay Pick: Over 8 ½ Rounds [-225]

Surrender Isn’t an Option
Per usual, we have another pair of Mexican fighters that don’t surrender. Flores does present defensive deficiencies on occasion, however, he’s proven time and time again that you can knock this brawler down, but keeping him down is an entirely different kettle of fish.
There’s plenty of juice spread up and down this weekend’s Albuquerque fight night. Still, if I’m going to utilize any of these high-priced boxing odds for our parlay, it has to side with the proven durability of Flores and Delgado taking this fight to the judge’s scorecards.
