I understand the argument for Madrimov, but I genuinely believe this is plus-money bettors just hopping on the downfall of a boxer in Crawford, who hasn’t given us any reason to doubt him as one of the greatest boxers to ever put on a pair of gloves.
Sure, 154 lbs might cancel some of Bud’s fight-ending potential, but it doesn’t remove his in-ring skills, and as the faster man with more professional championship experience, betting on Crawford to become a four-weight world champion feels like the side.
The boxing odds, at -900, aren’t tempting. However, we can respect Madrimov’s durability and size advantage. ‘Bud’ will need the scorecards, and +170 for a win by decision is a plus-money value I can get behind.
