Cross-Sport Parlay Picks: Underdogs the Bet in Soccer, UFC, Boxing

  • Look for live underdogs this weekend as several favorites have overvalued lines
  • Also consider one Premier League team facing an undermanned champion
  • Find the best cross-sport parlay picks to bet from the BetUS Sportsbook!

We won’t be dissuaded from parlaying underdogs into a cross-sport parlay. Yes, this may seem like a “sucker bet” but not until it hits at odds of 10/1 or better. For this edition, we look across the pond to Europe where a boxer and a soccer (football) team look to score some upsets. Parlay them with a UFC fighter in France and we may have the best fighting and Premier League picks on Saturday.

My 3 Best Cross-Sports Weekend Parlay Picks

1. Boxing: Harper Exposes Dixon

Why is Terri Harper fighting as a 3/1 underdog against the unproven Rhiannon Dixon? Harper “quit on the stool” in her last bout against Sandy Ryan. But that was up at 146 pounds against a proven champion. Dixon is not that. The 29-year-old (older than Harper at 26) beat Karen Elizabeth Carabajal to capture the WBO lightweight belt. This has been her only notable bout.

Dixon is 10-0 but has mainly fought low-level competition. On top of that, she does not have a lot of punching power. Harper got stopped by Ryan and Alycia Baumgardner. These ladies hit a bit harder and are more prolific. We’re not ready to write Dixon into this tier of boxer and laying -400 on the boxing lines on a new champ is too pricey.

However, Harper has also talked about retiring if things “don’t go the way she wants.” But she also ended her line saying: “I can go out there with nothing holding me back.” If we get the best version of Harper, with a good weight cut and all, she may just give Dixon a run for her money. Dixon could still edge her, but we see upsets in women’s boxing regularly. So we’re betting online on one here.

Bet on Terri Harper (+300)

2. UFC: ‘Money’ Moicano Gets Another One

Renato Moicano is in another good spot as an underdog here. The Brazilian has a steady record against strikers like Benoit Saint-Denis. He just upset Jalin Turner as a +220 underdog and he did this after beating Drew Dober and Brad Riddell. These are dangerous strikers who could have put Moicano out with the first clean punch they landed. Why can’t he do it again?

Saint-Denis was exposed against Dustin Poirier. Granted, Poirier would starch most UFC fighters on any night. But before Poirier, Saint-Denis had not fought a top-15 opponent of Moicano’s caliber. He could light up Moicano here, especially since he’s fighting in front of his compatriots.

So these are the best UFC bets to make here. Bet Moicano to outlast Saint-Denis in this bout. This is five rounds and if Saint-Denis can’t finish Moicano early, the Brazilian is more versatile and experienced. He can get a decision or a submission. Hedge this bet with a Saint-Denis by KO/TKO at +110. But for this cross-sport parlay, bet Moicano for the win.

Bet on Renato Moicano (+220)

3. Premier League: Bet Newcastle at Undermanned City

Thanks to two key injuries, Manchester City looks mortal. The soccer giant lost midfielder Kevin de Bruyne late last week, then drew with Arsenal and barely beat Watford. Now, Premier League news broke about defensive midfielder Rodri being out for the season. This is catastrophic and City will not be the same, thus Newcastle could take advantage.

Rodri is arguably the best player in the world right now and he’s led his teams to titles on any level. City lost four of the five matches last season when Rodri was sidelined. That was partly how City almost lost the title race to Arsenal. Thus, the betting lines here are pretty tight and money has come in on Newcastle.

It may even be a shrewd pick to take the draw at +338 in EPL odds. But taking the handicap on Newcastle +1 is a solid pick as we don’t see City blowing out the Magpies. NUFC is even flirting with another top-five spot this season. The club has a renaissance and finished fourth last season. They’re good to draw or pull off the shocker here.

Bet on Newcastle United +1 (-115)
