Stephen Fulton Favored To Get Past Roman
Stephen Fulton puts his WBC and WBO super bantamweight titles on the line against former champion Daniel Roman. If the boxing betting odds are accurate and he beats Roman with no controversies, a unification bout against WBA and IBF champ Murodjon Akhmadaliev is on the horizon. But Fulton must not overlook Roman.

Fulton as Cool as They Come
True to his moniker, “Cool Boy Steph,” Fulton is one of the slickest boxers today. While critics will point to his lack of power, Fulton has outboxed every opponent that has been thrown his way. He did have a close fight against Brandon Figueroa in a fight that could see a rematch given how competitive it was. But he did win.
Against Daniel Roman, Fulton faces a boxer that is kind of like Figueroa. Roman is not as technical as Fulton but he will come forward and mix it up. He has a bit more experience and even gave Akhmadaliev his toughest fight to date.
The key for Fulton is to keep utilizing his jab, which can keep Roman at bay. Even if Fulton has a shorter reach (one inch), he has been apt at using his straight punches to beat his opponents. At his current online sports betting odds, Fulton is a larger favorite than he was against Figueroa though this fight could be just as close.
Roman Looks for One Final Shot at Glory
Danny Roman will shrug off Fulton’s comments that this is his “last chance” but it could be. The 32-year-old is by no means “washed” but a loss to Fulton will make him winless against both champions. He could upset Fulton and book a rematch against Akhmadaliev. But he’ll need to outwork Fulton.
Roman does not have the power to keep Fulton in check and even if he did, Fulton could just outbox him from the outside. But he does throw over 70 punches per round and gets stronger the longer the fight goes. If he can keep the first few rounds close enough, he could make Fulton and his backers sweat as the fight goes.
It’s worth betting online on Roman who could just turn the tables on Fulton here. However, he is still too hittable and his workrate alone won’t win him the fight.
Fulton vs Roman Head-to-Head
Stephen Fulton will be giving up a one-inch reach advantage despite being the taller man. Danny Roman throws more punches than Fulton but the champ is more accurate and has the better defense. This fight could be close up to the championship rounds.

Fulton vs Roman Betting Lines
Fulton vs Roman Prediction
A part of us would love to bet Roman to quadruple our stakes. But his defense, or lack thereof, will ultimately cost him as Fulton is the sharper boxer and will not play around. The better play is to bet this fight to go to a decision or over 10½ rounds.
Keep an eye on the live betting lines for this one. If Roman changes the script and goes hard at Fulton early, he could throw the champion off. It would be interesting to see how the lines adjust. Alternatively, if Fulton wins early on but Roman is hanging around, a longer line on Roman may be worth taking.
Pick: Over 10½ (-450)
