The Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis WBC Junior Welterweight title fight headlines our boxing parlay on Saturday.
We have three fights included in our Saturday parlay, which could result in a healthy payout at our sportsbook.
Haney by Decision
Betting on boxing is all about finding value, and it’s with Haney to win by decision.
The 30-0 American fighter is a -400 chance to win outright against Prograis, but he’s -230 to win on points, which is the likely outcome.
Haney holds the IBF, WBA, and WBO titles, and he looks to add the WBC title to his ever-increasing record.
The 25-year-old has achieved a lot throughout his career, despite still being young, and he comes off a gutsy win over Vasyl Lomachenko.
That proved he can battle with the best in the business, including Prograis, who is 29-1 following a split decision win over Danielito Zorrilla.
We’re not sure how one judge had him losing 114-113 when the other judges gave him the fight easily, but that’s boxing for you.
The +300 with sports betting markets is a fair price, but we can’t look past Haney getting it done.
Teddy Atlas believes Prograis could be past his best.
“Prograis is the naturally bigger guy, but I don’t know if he has already had his best fight, and it was in the one loss that he has [to Josh Taylor], but he fought a tremendous fight,” Atlas said.
Boxing Pick: Davin Haney by Decision (-230)
Amari Jones Rising Ranks
Amari Jones vs. Quilisto Madera is on the undercard of the Haney vs. Prograis card, and betting online markets have Jones favored to win.
The 21-year-old is 10-9 with nine wins by knockout, including a first-round KO of Luis Diaz in October.
He hasn’t faced anyone worth talking about, but that’s often the case with fighters rising the grades.
He faces Madera, who is 14-4. Madera hasn’t looked overly impressive throughout his career, including a unanimous decision loss to Kevin Newman III earlier this year.
The 172nd-ranked fighter lost almost every round, so we’re not sure what to make of the big underdog. Therefore, we’re taking Jones to win by knockout.
Getting -200 for Jones by knockout is a fair price given his -3335 outright odds. That’s too short to take, so include the -200 in your boxing parlay bets, which helps boost potential payouts.
Boxing Pick: Amari Jones by KO (-200)
Not Too Late for Bridges
Australian-born Ebanie Bridges has many different things going on in her life, but the 37-year-old is making a run in the boxing world.
She owns the IBF world bantamweight title after beating Maria Cecilia Roman and defending that title against Shannon O’Connel, so her form stands out.
The -667 favorite faces Japanese hopeful Miyo Yoshida, who is a worthy opponent, but she comes off two losses from her last three fights.
She is a 35-year-old fighter who has yet to win by knockout, so Bridges won’t be afraid of her power. The lack of power is a concern, especially when she lost her last fight by unanimous decision.
If you can’t knock out opponents, you need to win rounds. Therefore, we’re taking Bridges to win in what should be a comfortable victory.
Boxing Pick: Ebanie Bridges -667
