Super Welterweights Ready to Remind the World
Not to be too overshadowed by the colossal main event they fall under, Terri Harper will fight Cecilia Braekhus for her WBA and IBO super welterweight belts. The boxing lines favor Harper comfortably as she’s looked like a new woman since losing to Alycia Baumgardner several weight classes down. However, Braekhus is being underestimated here and still has plenty of fight left in her.
Harper Matured as a Boxer
Losses are not only humbling but also enlightening. Harper began her career as a super featherweight and tore through her competition with her aggressive style. She won the WBC and IBO belts before running face-first into Baumgardner. The loss made Harper contemplate her career.

She bulked up and negated the weight cutting by moving up four weight divisions. This allowed her to focus more on her boxing. The results have thus far been sterling: She outboxed Hannah Rankin and once again delivered as a boxing pick by winning the WBA and IBO belts.
Harper overcame Rankin’s strength and power by outmaneuvering her. She picked her punches and was savvier and more technical. If this Harper shows up, she is the rightful favorite. What’s more is that Harper could still crack so a knockout win is not the craziest bet online.

Braekhus Still has It
While Braekhus is an aging boxer and from the “older” generation, she’s still got plenty left to prove. The former undisputed welterweight champion may be 41, but she has not absorbed too much damage over the years. Her only losses came against Jessica McCaskill during the turbulent times of the pandemic.
Now back on her grind, Braekhus could be close to her peak form. She’s still hungry and moving up a weight division means she also does not have to cut as much weight. But, more importantly, Braekhus still holds more high level experience than her opponent.
The Norwegian also sports one of the best jabs in the business. She can use it to frustrate Harper, who will undoubtedly look to get in on the inside to do damage. If Braekhus is to make shocking boxing news, she’ll need to slow Harper down and outmaneuver her. That’s a tall task but is something Braekhus could just do.
Harper vs Braekhus Head-to-Head
Harper is an inch taller than Braekhus but her opponent has a one-inch reach advantage. Both box in the orthodox stance. The glaring difference here is in age. The favorite, Harper, is 15 years younger than Braekhus.
