Olascuaga vs Kyoguchi Boxing Prediction, Odds and Picks: Bet on a Brawl and KO on Mar 13

Anthony Olascuaga and Hiroto Kyoguchi are ready to light up Tokyo. We have offensive boxers who will go toe-to-toe in what should be a slugfest of a co-main event. Both hit hard and have been knocked out in recent fights. Given the boxing odds, the best bet is to go under in total rounds and for a potential early finish. But for whom?

Best Prop and Round Betting Picks for Olascuaga vs Kyoguchi
1. Olascuaga and Kyoguchi Under 9.5 Rounds (-135)
Just look at the knockout rate of these boxers. Olascuaga hits hard as does Kyoguchi. We’re betting online they are more powerful than tough. Olascuaga’s and Kyoguchi’s last knockout losses came against Kenshiro Teraji. And these came via volume as Teraji broke them down. That shows these boxers are more about dishing damage than defending against it.
“I won more than I lost in the Teraji fight because I made my name known,” Olascuaga told BoxingScene. “My promoter has since had more confidence in me, and I made a lot of fans. I thought I was already at a champion level, but losing to Teraji helped me want to get better. Teraji proved to me otherwise to have my tools ready.”
Boxing predictions today are moderately in Olascuaga’s favor because he’s more prolific of a power puncher than Kyoguchi. He sits on his punches and will aim for a one-hitter quitter. And he’s done that prolifically. He starched his last two opponents, both decent veterans in a title fight, in three rounds or fewer.
While we don’t see either boxer dominating the other, one is more hittable than the other: Kyoguchi. He’s a typical Japanese boxer with a high guard and will absorb damage to dish out his own. That is a bad recipe against a heavy-handed Olascuaga.
The key for the champion is to weaken Kyoguchi’s body, which he can be prone to given his high hands. Once Kyoguchi starts to soften, this will open things for Olascuaga. We expect him to land a knockout blow some time before the 10th round.
Bet on Under 9.5 Rounds (-135)
2. Olascuaga vs Kyoguchi Doesn’t Go the Distance (-190)
As we saw in the controversial Davis-Roach bout, no man is invincible. In what is supposed to be a firefight, one of the better plays is to take the “no decision” boxing prop bet at almost -200. This may seem hefty, but we’d be surprised to see this bout go all the way. Both boxers hit much harder than their 112-pound frames indicate.
Olascuaga has the rare one-punch knockout power. He not only loads up on his punches but has great timing. But sometimes, he can get caught loading up and get smacked himself. Kyoguchi is not as potent of a one-punch boxer, but he’s aggressive and has more KO wins than Olascuaga has professional bouts.
As such, there should be better than a 65.5% chance this one gets finished before the 12th and final bell. Since both boxers are durable, this is an alternative line for a boxing futures bet if you want more insurance.
Bet on Fight to Go The Distance – No (-190)
