When the “Greatest Woman of All Time” (GWOAT) fights, it’s a big deal. It’s an even bigger deal when she’s fighting an opponent who is bigger and could realistically cause an upset. Pay no heed to the lopsided boxing odds as Claressa Shields is not fighting a tomato can in Danielle Perkins. This is a heavyweight bout so bet on a potentially legendary outcome.

2 Best Prop and Round Betting Picks for Shields vs Perkins

1.Back Perkins at Longshot Odds

We’re going for the upset here, at least for online sports betting purposes. Getting 9/1 odds on Perkins is too generous. Picks-wise, we still favor Shields to beat Perkins. But this line was set to discourage people from whaling on Shields as she’s undefeated and has molly-whopped the competition. This may not be the case here.

Yes, we’re aware that Perkins is a 42-year-old woman who has five pro bouts. She only started boxing professionally in 2020. By this time, Shields had become the fastest boxer to win titles in three divisions. Now, the “GWOAT” seeks a new challenge by fighting at the heaviest weight class.

She’s far more experienced, skilled and has fought better competition. But you can’t teach size. And at 6-foot with a 72-inch reach, Perkins will be as tall as Savannah Marshall but heftier. Perkins has heavy hands even if she’ll be the slower of the two women here. And, more notably, she walks through punches like nothing.

Shields is great at everything but she doesn’t have plenty of power. She beat up Marshall but could not hurt the Briton. What more against a true heavyweight? Perkins must just be disciplined and defend against Shields. Once she can throw Shields off her rhythm, she can command the ring as the bigger woman.

While there is a path to victory for Perkins, we still see Shields finding a way to win. But we won’t be as shocked as the rest of the world should Perkins do the unthinkable. Bet online on Perkins at these ludicrous odds.

Bet on Danielle Perkins (+1300)

2.Fight Does Not Go The Distance (+225)

While our Shields vs Perkins moneyline boxing prediction is a crazy one, we’ll offer another wild take here. At +225, the odds are too wide on these boxers to go all 10 rounds. There is a danger of Perkins quitting at some point due to fatigue. And it’s not crazy to think that they could finish each other.

Perkins has fought to a decision multiple times in her career. She went six rounds last year and eight rounds in 2021. The extra two rounds may be the difference-maker here. As we stated, Shields does not have the punching power to put opponents away. But she did knock out Vanessa Lepage Joanisse. And she can finish Perkins by exhausting her.

So while it’s unlikely that this fight gets finished, we are betting against it. The +225 is tempting enough. Shields and Perkins may not be known for their punching power. But carrying all that weight in a 10-round fight can lead to some unforeseen results. So bet on another value prop here.

Bet on Fight To Go The Distance – No (+225)
