Taylor vs Serrano Betting Analysis
Why Bet Katie Taylor: Repeating History
Despite being 38, Katie Taylor is a two-division undisputed queen and one of the greatest talents from Ireland in women’s boxing. “The Bray Bomber” has a list of top-notch wins on her resume, but none have been more memorable than her 2022 split-decision win over Amanda Serrano.
Taylor’s first meeting with Serrano was an instant classic, and she successfully retained all the lightweight gold. Two years and seven months later, Ireland’s finest faces the undisputed featherweight champ with one thing in mind: repeating history.
It sounds simple enough for online betting: Defeat an opponent she’s already conquered, right? Don’t be quick to judge because the first fight presented a razor-close split decision, and with an added three pounds at super lightweight, fighting off Serrano’s thirst for two-division undisputed status will be easier said than done.
“The whole journey, from 10 years of age to right now, every victory, every low point, has led me to this moment.”

Why Bet Amanda Serrano: Correcting History
Having held nine major world titles across seven weight classes, Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano is arguably the most accomplished woman in boxing today. However, two-division undisputed world championship status has evaded her accomplishments, and that’s a piece of history she’ll be aiming to correct this weekend in Texas as a slight underdog in boxing lines at even odds
It’s no secret that “The Real Deal” has found comfortability at 126 pounds. Nobody has come close to beating her at featherweight, but with the 12-pound jump and this fight at super lightweight being just her second at this weight class ever, can she remove the judges’ intervention by adding another knockout to the 31 she’s already obtained throughout her pro tenure?

Taylor vs Serrano II: The Tale of the Tape
Taylor vs Serrano II: Skillset Breakdown
Technical boxing from the early onset, with light movement and a beautiful jab, told the story of Taylor’s success in the first half of the first fight. She managed to weather the storm in the middle rounds and looked almost out on her feet at one stage, but her durability and determination shone through.
Per Serrano vs Taylor betting stats, there aren’t many technical differences that each woman will bring from the first fight. So the main talking points should focus on outside factors – such as Serrano’s three-weight jump and how Taylor’s looked since.
Having fought Chantelle Cameron twice in 2023, losing one and winning the rematch, there was a clear difference in Taylor’s cardio from the Serrano bout. She looked sluggish and tired and was 38 years old; this wasn’t a huge surprise. Most of her career has been spent going the distance, and now she has to dance with the hardest hitter she’s ever faced … again!
Serrano has already proven her power does carry over to higher-weight classes. Taylor outplayed this whenever she boxed technically and played her jab. Unfortunately, she lost rounds by getting dragged into a firefight, and this might be unavoidable as Serrano has clearly stated she’s going to unleash the heat from the first bell, unlike her approach in the first fight.
Taylor vs Serrano II Trends
- Serrano has won 9 world titles across seven weight classes
- Taylor lost 1 of her 2 fights since her initial meeting with Serrano
- Serrano has lost 1 pro bout in the previous 11 years
- Serrano has won 47 of her 51 pro bouts (31 by KO/TKO)
How to Bet on Taylor vs Serrano
I struggle to look beyond how tired Taylor looked in the Cameron fight. Serrano, on the other hand, despite being 36, seems to level up with each fight. She’s a freak of nature and appears as if we’ll get the same fight style again.
I have to back the outside variables such as power, cardio and determination in my boxing picks. In this case, it’s Serrano or pass from a betting perspective, and the odds placing the challenger as the underdog make even more sense following an incredibly close first fight.
I expect Taylor to put up a valiant effort early, much like the first contest. However, I don’t believe she’ll replicate her late heroics from last time, and Serrano, as the more damaging power puncher, versus an older, more worn version of Taylor, is the A-side, despite what the boxing odds suggest.
My Best Bet: Serrano Moneyline +100
