Kenshiro Teraji will make another statement as he defends his titles. The Japanese champion is set to destroy Seigo Yuri Akui as the main event in Thursday’s card. The boxing odds widely favor Teraji, who many consider the best flyweight boxer today. Akui is a formidable opponent but is not a fighter who can give Teraji a run for his money.

Best Prop and Round Betting Picks for Teraji vs Akui
1. Kenshiro Teraji to Win by KO or TKO (-105)
We know Teraji will beat Akui. He’s the -400 favorite for a reason. But the question in most bettors’ minds is how and when Teraji beats him. Looking at boxing futures bets, a knockout win at -105 is the best choice. Teraji has won five of his last six bouts via KO. Carlos Canizales proved everyone wrong by taking Teraji to a decision.
Still, Akui is no Canzales. The latter was like a mad dog that took Teraji’s best shots and kept coming. We don’t think Akui has the chin or the bullheadedness to keep pressing the attack at this rate. Once “The Amazing Boy” starts teeing off on him, he may start to wilt. This is a huge step up for him and a step down from Teraji.
The 33-year-old should make the Top 10 pound-for-pound list if he keeps this up. Meanwhile, Akui has a pair of KO losses. One was to Junto Nakatani, and we can forgive that as he’s the best boxer from Japan outside of Naoya Inoue. The other is concerning, as 17-8 journeyman Jaysever Abcede took him out.
Teraji is not a power puncher, nor is he someone who hunts for knockouts. But he is fast and relentless and will let his hands fly. Akui is outgunned and outmatched here, though he could be good enough to make this fight go longer than most expect.
Still, the best boxing prop bet is a KO win for Teraji. Fighting at a higher weight class should also be a boon for him as he gets to maintain more of his energy and will not drain himself as much during the weight cut. Bet on Teraji to win via KO.

2. Kenshiro Teraji to Win in Rounds 7-12 (+185)
An alternative boxing pick is to take Teraji to win in the latter half of the fight. While there is a chance he gets Akui out there early, the favorite is not going to rush his performance. He is usually level-headed and calculated, even if he has spurts where he “swangs and bangs”.
Akui did get knocked out by a relative unknown, but not until the eighth and final round. If he is to go down, it will be after many absorbed punches. Teraji has a 62.5% knockout rate in his victories, and most of that has come by way of him breaking down his opponents.
Teraji could be even better fighting at flyweight. Our boxing prediction today is for him to handle business against Akui and to win via a late KO.
“I hope I can show the new me,” Teraji said following his title win over Cristofer Rosales in October last year. “The second episode is going to be very good.”
