Whether you’re playing a tournament with a leader board, or in an event where you’re playing to advance, you need to do whatever it takes to move towards the prize pool. If you fall behind in the tournament, you need to abandon a conservative betting strategy and start wagering big. Sure conservative betting strategies are nice for keeping a lead, but they won’t help you gain any ground. In short, it’s better to make big bets in hopes of advancing/moving up when you’re behind rather than trying to sneak into the money.
