While most forms of casino gambling can’t be beaten over the long-term, tournament blackjack is one game that can be beaten. As you may already know, the reason why is because you are competing against other players rather than against the house edge. Unfortunately, most players don’t even come close to beating their blackjack adversaries because they don’t use proper strategy. So in an effort to avoid joining these losers, let’s look at some blackjack tournaments strategy that will help you win.
Bet the Opposite Way of the Other Players
One of the best ways to gain an advantage over your fellow players is by betting the opposite of what the majority does. For example, if everybody at your table is making small bets, you bet big in hopes of winning lots of chips and differentiating yourself from the field. Likewise, if there are lots of maniacs at your table, you should bet more conservatively in hopes of outlasting the overzealous players. Whatever the case may be, using the opposite strategy is a great way to put yourself in a position to do well in blackjack tournaments.
Bet to Advance or Bust Trying
Whether you’re playing a tournament with a leader board, or in an event where you’re playing to advance, you need to do whatever it takes to move towards the prize pool. If you fall behind in the tournament, you need to abandon a conservative betting strategy and start wagering big. Sure conservative betting strategies are nice for keeping a lead, but they won’t help you gain any ground. In short, it’s better to make big bets in hopes of advancing/moving up when you’re behind rather than trying to sneak into the money.
As you can see, a lot of blackjack tournament strategy revolves around your betting strategies since most players will be already using optimal playing strategy. After all, it‘s not hard for people to pick up a blackjack strategy chart before they start playing.
