Single Deck Blackjack - Game Guide
The goal in the classic game of Blackjack is to hit the elusive 21. Face cards (Jack, Queen and King) count for 10, while the Ace can count for 11 or 1. Number cards, the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and all the way up to 10, count for exactly what they are. A 2 is a 2 and a 3 is a 3. If your number exceeds the dealer’s without going over 21, you win!
Single Deck Blackjack - How to Play
The goal of Blackjack is to get as close to or at the number 21 by using face cards and numbered cards. You win your wager if you are closer to 21, without going over, than the dealer.
You make at least the minimum bet before any cards are dealt. The dealer’s first card is always dealt down while your first two cards are dealt up. Once you’ve received your two cards, you can Stand or Hit. If you hit, you get another card, and so on until you are satisfied with the number you’ve got, as close to 21 without going over.
If you go over 21, the dealer wins. If you’re closer to 21 than the dealer, you win. If you’re at exactly 21, you’ve hit a blackjack! If you get 21 off the draw, a natural 21 via your first two cards, not only do you win your bet, but you win a bonus amount on top of your bet!
Single Deck Blackjack - Bet Types
There is only one bet in Single Deck Blackjack. You can make the minimum bet all the way up to the maximum bet before any cards are dealt unless you double down. You can only double down, doubling your wager, $100 becomes $200, on 10 or 11 in Single Deck Blackjack.

Single Deck Blackjack – Payouts
You win what you bet. If you bet $100, you win $100. If you win with a blackjack, you show exactly 21, you win 6/5. In that case, you’re $100 wager will pay back $120 in profit.
Single Deck Blackjack - Strategy/Tips
The dealer is going to have one card face down. What this means is that you will have to strategize around the upcard, the card that you can see. If the dealer is showing a card higher than one of yours, you’ll want to hit. If the dealer shows a card lower than yours, you should consider staying and the dealer can’t put together a winning hand. See a couple of examples below:
Dealer’s upcard is a 5 and you have a Jack (10) and 8 - - Stay
Dealer’s upcard is a 9 and you have a Queen (10) and 4 - - Hit
In Single Deck Blackjack, The Dealer stands on hard 17 & hits on a soft 17. You can double down on 10 or 11 in Single Deck Blackjack. If your two cards show a 10 or 11, you can double your wager, $100 becomes $200, for one more card. You have to stay after the third card is dealt.
