Colorado to Cover Spread vs Utah in NCAAB Picks for March 14

Teams will meet in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 tournament when the Colorado Buffaloes and Utah Utes clash on Thursday night. The meeting will be the third of the season between the two, with each winning a game on their home floor. Both Utah and Colorado will be hoping for an extended stay in the Pac-12 tournament. The Buffs received a bye after finishing third in the Pac-12 while Utah already dismantled Arizona State in round one. The Utes will be hoping to build off of that win, but college basketball expert picks are rolling with the Buffs.

Colorado vs Utah ATS Pick: Colorado -4

Utah started the Pac-12 tournament hot with a 33-point defeat of Arizona State in the first round, but it’ll have a different result when it faces off with Colorado once more Thursday.

The Utes have picked up a win over the Buffaloes this season, but in their last matchup, Colorado won by 24. The Buffs come into the tournament on a six-game win streak. Colorado is also playing some of its strongest basketball, shooting the ball very well while averaging 83.7 points on 52.1% shooting in those final six games.

Utah was able to take care of the Sun Devils, in part because Arizona State shot just 31.4% from the field and 15.8% from three, but the latter is also unlikely to happen for Colorado. The Buffs closed out their season shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc, including 47.6% against Utah.

Though the Utes shot it well against Arizona State at 59.3%, their offense has been streaky. They finished with a 41.1% shooting percentage in their previous game and they scored 65 points on 44.3% shooting in the last matchup against Colorado.

With the Buffs riding momentum coming into the tournament and shooting it as well as they have been, they should be able to cover the small spread to open the postseason strong.

Colorado vs Utah Player Prop Pick: Gabe Madsen Over 2.5 3-Pointers Made (-113)

Though he went quiet from beyond the arc against Arizona State, Gabe Madsen should bounce back and get right back on track against Colorado. Madsen has shot the three at a 38.4% clip this season, and he has knocked down at least three from beyond the arc in five of his last six games.

He was able to hit a few in his two games against Colorado as well, hitting three in the Utes’ road game while he finished with two in their home victory. With another win-or-go-home game up next for Utah, expect Madsen to find his shot again to knock a few threes down.
