Dayton Flyers vs. Arizona Wildcats Picks, March Madness Tourney, 2nd Rd
Seventh-seeded Dayton and second-seeded Arizona meet in a West Region clash for the second round of the March Madness Tournament. Both teams showed some inconsistency in the first round, but we’re here to give you our NCAAB best bets.
In the first round, the Flyers were down 17 points late to Nevada but went on a 24-4 run to get a 63-60 win. On the other hand, while the Wildcats’ 85-65 victory over Long Beach State looks impressive, the game was close in the first half, which could be a concern going forward.

Because of how Dayton and Arizona looked in the first round, this could be a challenging game to select the best college basketball bets on March 23. Arizona is the better team, but it showed some cracks in the tournament’s first round. On top of that, Dayton was down 17 points, having to pull off a sizable comeback to stay alive in the tournament.

ATS Pick: Dayton +9½
At first glance, this seems like a trap game for Arizona, especially after the Wildcats were on upset watch for most of the first half against Long Beach State.
That first half is something that Dayton could take advantage of with a better roster, and make Arizona a little more uncomfortable.
Even though Dayton was the higher seed in its matchup with Nevada, our college basketball lines had them as a one-point underdog. The lines showed that the matchup was pretty even, and the game played out that way.
Dayton showed it could keep games close, and now, against a more formidable opponent, that is enough to have faith in it covering the spread.
Over/Under Pick: Over 149½
Arizona has been one of the top offenses in the nation, averaging the third most points per game at 87.9. If Dayton has a chance in this game to cover the college basketball spread, it will need to keep up with Arizona offensively.
The good thing is that Dayton has the highest-scoring offense in the Atlantic 10 Conference, averaging 75.9 points against conference opponents. In addition, DaRon Holmes II averaged 20.3 points per game this season. They have the team to keep up with Arizona, so the Flyers should cover but also get this game to hit the over.
Player Prop Pick: Caleb Love Over 18½ points (+102)
Caleb Love in Arizona’s first round win over Long Beach State:
🔥 18 PTS
🔥 11 REB
🔥 5 AST
🔥 2 STL@ArizonaMBB pic.twitter.com/EbYo2yjHGf— SLAM University (@slam_university) March 21, 2024
No matter what happens in this game, we can count on Caleb Love getting his shots up and trying to be the engine of Arizona’s offense. In the win over Long Beach State, he finished the game with 18 points, taking 17 shots, 12 of which were from behind the three-point line. Love would only go 3-12 on his three-point attempts, but he should be in for another big offensive game against Dayton.
