March Madness and MLS: This Weekend’s Mega Parlay Bet

March Madness Final Four headlines our cross-sport parlay along with a classic MLS matchup. We cashed on our parlay last week led by Caitlin Clark and Iowa. We’ll go back to her matchup again, though not quite on the same side. Given the tight betting lines, it anchors our picks, which is capped off by the right L.A. for the soccer parlays today.

Best Bets to Parlay This Weekend

NCAAM: NC State Gives Purdue a Run – NC State +9

We’re not only going against Clark but also Zach Edey on the men’s side. Congratulations to Purdue for making it this far. But something needs to be said about how Edey and the Boilermakers are already acting like they won a title. The sportsbook has listed Purdue as the -420 favorites. But this will be a sweat.

The Boilermakers, led by Edey, can bully the Wolfpack inside. This is not up for debate. But the Wolfpack have the edge from the perimeter. Led by DJ Horne, the Wolfpack can win the turnover battle and force Purdue’s guards into tough situations.

We’re still picking Purdue to beat NC State. But we’re taking the points on the Wolfpack. We can’t keep underestimating this team. It took out Marquette, which ranked nearly as good as Purdue by KenPom metrics. As an underdog, it may just help make for one of the best college basketball parlay plays today.

NCAAW: UConn Takes Down Iowa – Connecticut +125

It’s not every tournament we can peg UConn as the underdogs. But here they are at +125 on the women’s college basketball odds. Everyone is talking about Clark and her Hawkeyes. But the Huskies are better built to win this potentially grueling game. UConn plays better defense as a team and we’ll take the one-two punch of Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards over Clark.

Bueckers and Edwards are All-Americans. They combined for 52 points as they dismantled USC. UConn also held JuJu Watkins and the Trojans to 32.9% shooting. On top of that, the Huskies have more experience battling through adversity than the Hawkeyes. This is not to say Iowa is a pushover. Far from it.

But as Edwards said, Bueckers and UConn have been playing like it’s the big time since the first game. The Huskies will neutralize the Hawkeyes, who don’t really have a consistent scorer outside of Clark. She can bank 30 points and we’ll still bet online on UConn to pull off the upset. Parlay the Huskies.

MLS: LAFC Captures El Tráfico – LAFC -120

Last but not least is the El Tráfico rivalry. This Los Angeles Derby tends to favor the Galaxy, which has a 9-7-5 record versus its cross-town rival. The soccer betting lines have the LAFC favored at -120. Despite recent forms, LAFC is the superior team. It’s also why they have won four of the last six meetings.

The Galaxy are unbeaten so far but their wins have come against clubs with a combined record of 1-5-9. They also struggled to score against Seattle. LAFC is 2-1-3 with an even goal differential. But two of those losses came against Real Salt Lake and Minnesota, two topnotch outfits right now.

LAFC have more to prove right now. The pressure is on this squad, which continues to have somewhat low odds to win the MLS Cup 2024. Given its stacked roster, we’re pulling for them to get it together for this rivalry match.
