March Madness bracket has Gonzaga favored to avenge last year’s loss in the title game and win the national championship.
Therefore, we’re not surprised by the short odds available for second-round games against the likes of Memphis.
The Bulldogs scored a 93-72 victory over Georgia State as -22½ underdogs, so they didn’t cover the spread, which largely came down to a poor first half.
Gonzaga was only up by two points at the half, but the offense caught fire and posted 58 second-half points to rout the Panthers.
Often the catalyst for a good performance, Drew Timme had 32 points and 13 rebounds, which sparked a 24-1 run for Gonzaga in the second half.
