2024 Men’s March Madness National Championship Odds

UConn Huskies -210

UConn is on the brink of making history as they aim to become back-to-back champions in the 2024 Men’s March Madness Tournament. To achieve this incredible feat, the Huskies must continue their dominant tournament run, which has seen them cruise through the first six games, winning each contest by double-digit margins. By maintaining this level of performance and avoiding any upsets or close calls, UConn will put themselves in prime position to repeat as champions.

The Huskies’ roster is loaded with veteran leadership and NBA-caliber talent with players like Donovan Clingan and Tristen Newton leading the charge. Leveraging this experience and high-end skill will be crucial for UConn to navigate the pressure of the tournament and fend off any challengers.

Additionally, the Huskies’ suffocating defense has been a key factor in their success, and continuing to play lockdown defense and force turnovers will be essential for controlling the tempo of games and limiting opponents’ scoring opportunities.

With their incredible tournament run, it’s no surprise that UConn has solidified its status as the heavy favorite to win the 2024 NCAA championship. Oddsmakers currently have the Huskies as -210 favorites to cut down the nets, implying a staggering 66.7% probability of winning the title.

As the heavy favorites to repeat as champions, UConn must also avoid any complacency or letdowns. Maintaining their focus and intensity throughout the tournament will be crucial to fending off potential upsets and securing back-to-back titles.

Purdue Boilermakers +195

Purdue is on a mission to claim the 2024 Men’s March Madness title, and their path to victory runs through their star center, Zach Edey. Edey’s dominant play has been the key to Purdue’s tournament success, as evidenced by his historic performance in the Elite Eight, where he scored a career-high 40 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against Tennessee.

If the Boilermakers want to cut down the nets, they’ll need Edey to continue playing at an elite level and taking over games.

But Purdue can’t rely on Edey alone. They’ll also need strong contributions from their supporting cast.. These players will need to step up and provide scoring support alongside Edey to keep opposing defenses on their feet and not only throwing everything they have against Purdue’s main man down center.

On the defensive end, Purdue will need to maintain their intensity throughout the tournament. Tennessee had one of the nation’s best defenses, ranking 3rd in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency, but the Boilermakers were able to overcome this by leaning on Edey’s dominance. Continuing to play lockdown defense will be crucial for Purdue’s title hopes.

Finally, Purdue must avoid any smugness as they seek redemption after suffering a shocking upset loss to Fairleigh Dickinson in the 2023 tournament. Staying focused and treating every game like a championship matchup will be key to avoiding any potential upsets.

The Boilermakers have shown that they can overcome adversity and beat the best teams in the country, and now it’s time for them to finish the job and claim their spot at the top of college basketball.

Alabama Crimson Tide +1600

Who knew Alabama had it in them to not only make it big in the college football world, but also in NCAA hoops? All jokes aside though, Alabama’s historic journey to their first-ever Final Four has been nothing short of spectacular. The #4 seeded Crimson Tide have showcased their offensive prowess throughout the tournament, leading the nation in scoring at 90.6 points per game. Their impressive run continued with an 89-82 victory over No. 6 Clemson, just days after taking down No. 1 North Carolina.

Guard Mark Sears has been the driving force behind Alabama’s success, averaging 24 points in the tournament and setting a school record with 25 games of 20 or more points this season. Despite starting the game 0 for 7, Sears caught fire when it mattered most, draining seven of his last 10 three-pointers and finishing with a team-high 23 points.

But it’s not just Sears who has stepped up for the Tide. Grant Nelson had a breakout performance against North Carolina, becoming the first player in 16 years to post at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocked shots in an NCAA tournament game. Freshman Jarin Stevenson also made his presence felt against Clemson, going 6-for-7 on three-pointers in the second half and finishing with 19 points.

Alabama’s high-octane offense has been a sight to behold, with the Tide hitting 109 points once and 89 twice in the tournament. Even when their defense has struggled, as it did in several regular-season losses, their scoring prowess has kept them in games and ultimately propelled them to the Final Four.

As the Crimson Tide prepare for their biggest stage yet, they’ll look to continue their offensive onslaught and etch their names in the history books. With Sears leading the charge and a supporting cast ready to step up when called upon, Alabama has all the tools to make a run at the national championship and cement their place among college basketball’s elite.

NC State Wolfpack +1600

NC State’s incredible journey to the Final Four is the epitome of March Madness magic. The Wolfpack, once sitting at 17-14 on March 9 and seemingly destined for an early offseason, have caught fire at the perfect time. They’ve reeled off nine straight wins, including five in five days to secure the ACC Tournament title and an automatic NCAA Tournament bid, knocking off North Carolina and Duke along the way.

In the Big Dance, NC State has continued to slay giants, upsetting second-seeded Marquette in the Sweet 16 and fourth-seeded Duke, again, in the Elite 8. The driving force behind the Wolfpack’s surge is big man DJ Burns, who scored a season-high 29 points against the Blue Devils and has been a consistent scoring threat throughout the tournament. Burns’ imposing 6-9, 275-pound frame has even caught the eye of NFL scouts as of lately if he was ever interested in making a career change.

As an 11-seed, NC State ties for the lowest seed ever to reach the Final Four, becoming just the sixth team to accomplish the feat. However, they stand alone as the only high-major team among the six to need a conference tournament championship to even make the field.

The Wolfpack’s run is reminiscent of their 1983 national championship team, led by Hall of Fame coach Jim Valvano, which defeated a star-studded Houston squad featuring Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler. This year’s team has faced nine consecutive win-or-go-home situations, overcoming halftime deficits and buzzer-beaters to keep their dream alive.

To cap off this improbable run and win the 2024 Men’s March Madness title, NC State will need to continue riding the wave of momentum, rely on balanced scoring from players like Burns, maintain their defensive intensity, and avoid overthinking. With their women’s team also heading to the Final Four, it’s an incredibly exciting time to be a part of the Wolfpack faithful. If NC State can pull off one more upset, they’ll etch their name in the history books and complete one of the most unlikely championship runs in NCAA Tournament history.
