Oregon Looks To Pull Big Upset Against Arizona in Pac-12 Semifinals

If you pay attention to the NCAAB lines for Friday’s semifinal matchup between Arizona and Oregon at the Pac-12 Tournament, you might think the Ducks have absolutely no chance to get the win. The top-seeded Wildcats are going for a No. 1 seed in next week’s NCAA Tournament and have some motivation, but Oregon is also fighting for an outside chance at the Big Dance and has some revenge on its mind as an 11-point underdog.

Arizona cruised through its quarterfinal contest with USC. Oregon will have to be at its very best to win this one outright, but the large point spread gives believers in the Ducks an opportunity to pick up a win if Oregon just keeps it close. We like that possibility.

Arizona vs Oregon Game Information

  • Game: Arizona (25-7) vs Oregon (21-11)
  • Date/Time: Friday, March 15, 8 p.m. ET
  • Location: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nev.

Arizona won both regular-season meetings, including a 20-point decision at home two weeks ago. Oregon’s defense has tightened up since, though, so it won’t be a pushover. In looking at the NCAAB spreads, the Wildcats are favored by 11 points, with the over/under set at 155 points.

Arizona vs Oregon Odds and Spreads

  • The over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.
  • Oregon is 0-6 ATS in its last six contests.
  • Arizona is 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games as a favorite.
  • The Wildcats are 3-2 ATS when playing on a neutral floor this season.
  • The over has hit in nine of Oregon’s last 12 games played on a Friday.
  • The under is 1-4 over the Ducks’ last five contests.
  • Oregon is 6-4 ATS in its last 10 matchups with Arizona.
  • The Wildcats are 21-11 ATS this season.

Arizona vs Oregon Over/Under Pick: Over 155

Arizona has one of the most explosive offenses in college basketball, averaging 88.8 points per game. The Wildcats scored 103 in their last meeting with Oregon on March 2, but they allowed 83. This game should be another high-scoring affair, though likely not to that extent.

Arizona guard Caleb Love has paced the team in scoring this season, averaging 18.5 points, and he’s no stranger to postseason play, having led North Carolina to the national title game in 2022. He and the Wildcats should put up a big number again, helping push this contest over, so make sure your online sports betting includes that wager.

Arizona vs Oregon ATS Pick: Oregon +11

The Wildcats dominated the Ducks two weeks ago, but having the same result is going to be difficult in this one. Arizona went from a 13-point loss to USC last Saturday to a 21-point win on Thursday, so consistency isn’t exactly the team’s strong suit right now. The Ducks’ defense has been playing better, allowing 70 points per game since the Arizona affair.

The NCAAB lines aren’t giving Oregon much of a shot in this one, but we like the Ducks to keep it competitive throughout. For that to happen, senior guard Jermaine Couisnard (15.3 points) must play well. He did on Thursday, finishing with 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the win over UCLA, so he’s certainly up to the challenge.

Arizona vs Oregon Player Prop Pick: Caleb Love Over 2.5 3-pointers (-141)

If Arizona is going to make a run in the Big Dance, Love is going to have to shoot the ball well. He loves to shoot from 3-point range and hit three from beyond the arc on Thursday despite only finishing with 11 points. Love has hit three or more 3-pointers in eight of the last 10 games, so do yourself a favor and include this prop among your NCAAB picks for Friday.
