ACC Games to Bet: Carolina ATS Streak at Stake
The first meeting of the season between North Carolina and Duke isn’t until Feb. 3. However, there are still some huge games coming up with UNC and Florida getting together in a matchup of the first- and second-place teams in the current ACC standings. The Tar Heels are 4-0 against the spread on the road this season. Keep that in mind when it comes to making NCAAB picks.
Four of the first seven games in the ACC this week have been won by the visiting team and that is a trend that ACC-leading North Carolina hopes continues this weekend.
North Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest are all undefeated at home while UNC joins Duke, Florida State, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh as the ACC teams with winning road records.
North Carolina is sixth and Duke is 18th in the NCAA NET rankings, one of the tools used to select and seed the NCAA Tournament. No other ACC team is in the top 30.
North Carolina moved up one spot to No. 3 in the Associated Press poll and remained third in the USA Today coaches poll. Duke fell in both polls and is now at No. 12 in the national rankings. No other ACC team is in the top 25.
When looking at the odds of winning March Madness, North Carolina moved from +2800 to +1600 as it has the best odds of winning the NCAAM championship among ACC teams. Duke is next among ACC squads at +2200.

North Carolina has won the last three games against Florida State, including an 11-point win in Tallahassee in 2023 as a 7½-point road favorite. However, the Seminoles won the previous four road games against North Carolina.
The Tar Heels have won nine games in a row and are the only ACC team still undefeated at home.
Florida State can cut North Carolina’s lead atop the ACC standings to one game with a win.
R.J. Davis is coming off a season-high 36 points in North Carolina’s win over Wake Forest on Monday.
VCU transfer Jamir Watkins had a career-high 27 points and Florida State handed Syracuse its first home loss of the season as the Seminoles rebounded from a loss to Clemson.
North Carolina is 4-0 against the college basketball spread on the road.

Duke bounced back from its first conference home loss of the season with a win at Louisville as Tyrese Proctor scored 24 points off the bench while Kyle Filipowski and Mark Mitchell both had double-doubles.

Mitchell and Jeremy Roach combined for 30 points for Duke after being considered questionable to play in the game.
Clemson is just 2-4 in January even with Saturday’s win at Florida State. The Tigers have fallen to 10th place in the ACC standings and are just 3-3 on the road.
Duke is 65-4 at home against Clemson. The Tigers have covered in three of the last seven road games against Duke.
Three of the last four games between Duke and Clemson finished over the total.
Duke is 6-5 against the Las Vegas odds at home this season. Clemson leads the ACC with five of its road games going over the total.
North Carolina State (13-6 SU, 8-10-1 ATS) at Syracuse (13-6 SU, 8-11 ATS)

Syracuse has won its last five games against North Carolina State with the Orange covering in each of the last four matchups.
Three of the last four times the Wolfpack played at Syracuse, the game was decided by four points or less.
North Carolina State is coming off back-to-back losses despite Casey Morsell averaging 16 points and 2.3 steals in defeats to Virginia Tech and Virginia.
Syracuse had won its first nine home games this season before an 85-69 loss to Florida State on Tuesday.
Judah Mintz had 28 points for the Orange but the other four starters finished with just 25 points.
Syracuse has covered in just four of its 10 home games this season while North Carolina State is 1-3-1 against the spread on the road.
