ACC NCAAB Prediction and Odds: Streaks at Stake in Duke vs Wake Forest

Duke continues to set the pace in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a perfect 8-0 record in conference play, with only one of those games being decided by single digits. Since an eight-point win over Notre Dame, the Blue Devils have won games by 35 and 27 points.

With the Blue Devils not in action until Saturday, there will be a chance for some other ACC teams to get some love early in the week in online betting. While there are no ACC games on Monday, four of the eight teams with winning ACC records will be in action on Tuesday when Louisville plays at SMU and North Carolina is at Wake Forest.

Will Miami find a way to pick up its first ACC win of the season against either Stanford on Wednesday or California on Saturday?

When looking at the NCAA basketball futures odds, Duke, led by dynamic freshman Cooper Flagg, now has the shortest odds at +500 to win the national championship. The Blue Devils are second in the NCAA NET rankings with the next ACC team being No. 29 Louisville.

Let’s check out my best college basketball picks this week for the ACC.

Top 3 NCAAB Predictions for the ACC This Week

1. Can Louisville Cover Again on the Road?

Louisville joins Duke as the only ACC team with a perfect record against the NCAAB spread on the road this season. The Cardinals head to Dallas to meet up with SMU on Tuesday with the Mustangs covering in just five of its 10 games at home this season.

Louisville comes into the week tied with Clemson for second place in the ACC standings after winning its last eight games.

Wisconsin transfer Chucky Hepburn is the top scorer for the Cardinals despite being held to just eight points on 2-of-13 shooting in a win over Virginia.

Since being held scoreless against Duke, SMU senior guard Chuck Harris has 11 3-pointers over his last four games so that is something to consider when looking at the Louisville stats.

2. Game of the Week: Duke at Wake Forest

Wake Forest joins Louisville and Clemson as the closest challengers to Duke in the ACC standings. The Demon Deacons are 9-0 at home but just 0-3 against ranked teams this season.

Wake Forest heads into the week on a five-game winning streak since a loss to Clemson. For all the hype surrounding Duke’s Flagg, don’t forget about Wake Forest star Hunter Sallis when looking at ACC player prop bets.

Sallis has six consecutive games with at least 20 points and he has shot over 50% in five of those games.

The Blue Devils have won 12 games in a row with Flagg having at least 24 points in four of his last six games.

When looking at NCAAB betting trends, Duke is 14-0 against unranked teams this season.

3. Chase Hunter Top Player Prop Option for Clemson

Leave Clemson senior guard Chase Hunter open at your own peril. Twice in his last five games, he nailed five 3-pointers.

Hunter has four 20-point games in his last eight games and he is 22-for-41 from 3-point range as the Tigers are 6-1 over their last seven games.

The one thing Hunter hasn’t done yet this season is post back-to-back games with at least 20 points. It might be worth going with Hunter in either the scoring or 3-pointer prop options when making NCAA basketball picks in Wednesday’s home date with Syracuse.
