Even though five Big Ten teams have yet to win a road game this season, none of the conference’s teams have a losing record going into this week’s action.

Things get underway on Monday with Penn State listed by the college basketball lines as the home favorite against Rutgers with the total set at 156.

When looking at the college basketball futures odds, rivals Michigan and Michigan State have the shortest odds of winning the national title among Big Ten teams.

Let’s check out my best college basketball picks this week for the Big Ten.

Top 3 NCAAB Predictions for the Big Ten This Week

1. Rutgers vs Penn State Under is the Best Bet on Monday

The only game in the Big Ten on Monday is not a candidate for the Game of the Week honors.

Rutgers is just 1-3 on the road this season while Penn State takes a four-game losing streak into the game.

The Scarlet Knights have won four of the last five games and, the last time that Rutgers played at Penn State, the Scarlet Knights won 80-76 in 2023.

When looking at the Big Ten betting trends, the last 12 games between Rutgers and Penn State landed under the total. With the total set at 156, go with the game to land under as well – even if Rutgers is led by high-scoring freshmen Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey while Penn State has six double-digit scorers.

Bet This Pick: Rutgers-Penn State Under 158 (-115)

2. Game of the Week: Michigan at Purdue

There was an adjustment period for Purdue after National Player of the Year Zach Edey headed off to the NBA. However, the Boilermakers have won seven games in a row and are 9-0 at home, per Michigan vs Purdue stats.

Michigan rebounded from an overtime loss at Minnesota by edging Northwestern in overtime in its most recent game behind 31 points by Vladislav Goldin. It was his second 30-point effort in his last four games.

Goldin, a Florida Atlantic transfer, and Yale transfer Danny Wolf give the Wolverines a pair of 7-footers. Purdue counters with 6-foot-9 Trey Kaufman-Renn, who might be the most improved player in the Big Ten. His scoring average has jumped from 6.4 points as a sophomore to 17.9 on 59% shooting this season.

Purdue has won its last three games against Rutgers but has only covered against the NCAA basketball betting lines in one of the last 14 meetings with the Wolverines.

3. Will the Aces Deliver In Rutgers-Penn State Matchup?

Both Rutgers and Penn State have an Ace in the hole.

Rutgers freshman Ace Bailey is averaging 23 points per game on the road. He is making 46.2% of his shots on 3-point range in those games.

Penn State senior guard Ace Baldwin Jr. is putting up 15.6 points per game at home this season. He has also made it to the foul line at least 10 times in two of his last three home games. Baldwin returned in Wednesday’s loss to Michigan State and finished with 20 points to go with nine assists after missing the previous game.

When looking at the Big Ten player prop options, take a look at the -113 odds for Baldwin to score 17+ points.
