Is USC The Right Fit For Bronny?
Bronny James committing to USC is all over the NBA news, I’m sure you’ve seen it. Many people believe that Bronny James going to USC is a storybook scenario playing out… but I’m not quite buying it.

Before we get started on the reasons why I think the USC move is the wrong decision, let’s start with the benefits of attending USC.
Firstly, LeBron and his family will be able to attend home games at USC, and LeBron will get to see Bronny play throughout college. Bronny is a California kid and he’d be staying home. As for the benefits of Bronny going to USC… this is really it.

Now, there are several reasons why I feel that Bronny going to USC is a bad decision. Let’s break them down.
Bronny will be joining a stacked backcourt at USC, that is returning future lottery pick Boogie Ellis. According to college basketball news, Oziyah Sellers (a 10 PPG scorer) is also returning to USC and they have the highest-ranked guard in the 2023 recruiting class, Isaiah Collier joining this season as well.

With all those returning players, it’s going to be very difficult for Bronny to make an impact on the court, and to me, a guy who is the damn namesake of one of, if not the greatest basketball player of all time, LeBron James, should not be attending the university where he’s going to be, at best, a role player.
Now, let’s quickly talk about Bronny’s game style. LeBron is a ball-dominant player, one of the best in history at attacking the rim and scoring. Bronny is not that type of player, he is a 3-and-D kind of player and is not a ball-dominant player. He is a shooter more than a rim attacker.

For the first time in Bronny’s career, he is not going to be the best player on his team. How is he going to be able to handle that kind of adversity? Is he going to be able to be a role player off the bench and be productive, or is he going to be a distraction to the team and bring a lot of media attention that could impact the team in a negative way? And more importantly for us bettors, how’s it going to affect our March Madness betting when the time comes?
We’ll find out soon, but I do believe USC is not the best fit for Bronny. Either way, we will all be tuned in to the USC basketball program throughout the year.
