March Madness Betting: Eight Top Four Seeds That Won’t Win

The NCAA Tournament is back! After no tournament in 2020, fans and players are ready to rock and roll. Madness is always the name of the game in March.

We are here to discuss some of the top four seeds that we feel just won’t get to where they want: the title game at the end of the NCAA Tournament.

Baylor Bears +450

Scott Drew’s Bears have not been the same since their COVID-19 break. While they have a solid backcourt, teams strong in the frontcourt may be able to take advantage of them.

The Bears are the No. 1 seed with the toughest second-round matchup, taking on either a battle-tested North Carolina team or a Wisconsin squad with experience that does not seem fun.

Michigan Wolverines +600

The loss of Isaiah Livers is a big one for Michigan. The Wolverines are the Big Ten’s regular-season champs, but they struggled in their conference tournament loss to Ohio State.

Michigan will have to go through LSU, Florida State and Alabama ideally to get to the Final Four. It is just not in the cards for Juwan Howard and his Wolverines.

Ohio State Buckeyes +2500

Ohio State is another Big Ten team that just won’t. The Buckeyes got to the Big Ten title game and lost in overtime to Illinois.

But while they are playing better, remember, this is a team that dropped four straight games at the end of the regular season. Ohio State just has too many lulls in its offense to win six postseason games in a row.

West Virginia Mountaineers +3000

Bob Huggins has a really good team. The Mountaineers are talented. They have done some great things this season.

But they are not good enough to be able to take down Houston and Illinois to get to the Final Four. West Virginia looks like a Sweet 16 team at best.

Texas Longhorns +3300

Shaka Smart and his Longhorns are the Big 12 tournament champions. That does not always bode well for teams.

A game against Abilene Christian is up first for the Longhorns. While they should win, that certainly will be pressure-packed, playing an in-state team.

Then, the Longhorns will see either BYU, Michigan State or UCLA. None of those seem like a cakewalk. If a Sweet 16 trip is in the picture, we like Alabama to knock them off.

Virginia Cavaliers +3300

Did we mention offensive lulls? Virginia is actually the defending national champion after winning the title in 2019 and then not having a tournament in 2020.

Do not be surprised if Virginia does not even make it out of the first round. The Bobcats of Ohio are waiting for the Cavaliers, and they are not an easy guard at all!

Arkansas Razorbacks +4600

The Razorbacks are having an incredible season. Arkansas earned a three seed, but now the real season has started. Are the Razorbacks battle-tested enough? Do they have the experience to get to the promised land?

The Razorbacks get Colgate in the first round and then either Texas Tech or Utah State in the second round. Ohio State is the likely Sweet 16 matchup for Arkansas.

Purdue Boilermakers +5000

Much like Virginia, we just cannot quite buy into Purdue. They have the worst odds of any of the top 16 teams in the tournament.

The Boilermakers have won their share of games this season, but the question is how. Do not expect Purdue to get to the Final Four unless a lot of things go its way.

We cannot wait for the NCAA Tournament and suspect you are ready as well. Look for some great games and some upsets. And make sure to get into the BetUS $1 million March Madness bracket contest.

If you are a fan of one of these teams or just doing some college basketball betting on them, we hope they prove us wrong, and you get that national title you are looking for!
