When looking at the college basketball futures odds, Michigan headed into 2025 with the shortest odds of winning the Big Ten title.

It is crowded at the top of the Big Ten in another area as well with Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Nebraska and UCLA all 9-5 against the college basketball spread.

Let’s check out my best college basketball picks this week for the Big Ten.

Top 3 NCAAB Predictions for the Big Ten This Week

1. Wisconsin vs Rutgers Under is Best Bet on Monday

There are just two Big Ten games on Monday with both Wisconsin and Ohio State listed by the college basketball betting lines as the road favorite.

Wisconsin is coming off a 116-point effort in a win over Iowa. Expect Rutgers to offer a little more resistance as playing the Scarlet Knights on the road is no easy task.

A quick peek at the Wisconsin vs Rutgers betting trends shows that the four of the last five times the schools played in New Jersey, the game landed under the total. The total is at 157 for Monday’s matchup and that is more than 20 points higher than any of the previous 14 games between the teams.

When making Big Ten picks, take the Wisconsin-Rutgers game to land under.

2. Game of the Week: Michigan at UCLA

Michigan’s perfect record in conference play will be on the line when the Wolverines go on the road to face a UCLA team that should have an extra bounce in its step after being held to 58 points in a loss to unranked Nebraska on Saturday.

This will be the first time the teams have played since UCLA joined the Big Ten. The most recent matchup was a 51-49 win by UCLA in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. When pondering college basketball best bets, expect more offense when the teams get together on Tuesday.

Oregon State transfer Tyler Bilodeau leads UCLA in scoring with an average of 14.5 points per game. He had 15 points and five rebounds in the loss to Nebraska.

Michigan opened 2025 with an 85-74 win over host USC, with the Wolverines covering as the 5.5-point underdog according to the BetUS sportsbook. Yale transfer Danny Wolf led five starters scoring in double figures with 21 points to go with 13 rebounds.

There are plenty of intriguing showdowns in the Big Ten this week, but the Michigan-UCLA clash is one to check out.

There are no Big Ten teams among the top 10 teams in the odds of winning the national championship, with Michigan leading the way at +4500 in the championship odds.

3. Illinois Star Kasparas Jakucionis a Top Player Prop Option

Rutgers freshmen Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey will lead the list of the Big Ten player prop options each and every week. However, there are other choices to consider.

Illinois freshman Kasparas Jakucionis is a triple-double threat each time he steps onto the court. He has scored in double figures in each of the last nine games, including six 20-point efforts during that stretch. Jakucionis has five games with at least 15 points, five rebounds and five assists this season.

The Fighting Illini are at home against Penn State on Tuesday and against USC on Saturday. The Pomeroy basketball database has both the Nittany Lions and the Trojans outside the top 50 in defensive efficiency this season. For those who bet online, that could help Jakucionis deliver on some player prop bets this week.
