NCAAB Conference Betting Odds: Gonzaga Once Again Team to Beat in WCC

Will the WCC conference title be a two-team race once again?
A quick look at the sports betting odds makes it seem likely that Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s will be the last two teams standing.
When looking at futures odds, Gonzaga’s odds of winning the NCAAB national title have moved from +1800 to +1400 since the season began. Saint Mary’s is well back at +15000.
Three 2024-25 WCC Championship Storylines to Watch
1. Gonzaga Expected to Be the Class of the WCC
Before handing the WCC title to Gonzaga, keep in mind that the Bulldogs only led by four points with a minute to go in their WCC opener against a Pepperdine team that is well back at +25000 in the odds of winning the WCC title.

Gonzaga began the season with an eye-opening 101-63 win over Baylor. With the possibility of facing no ranked teams in WCC play, head coach Mark Few had another challenging non-conference slate with wins at the expense of Baylor and Indiana as well as losses to unranked West Virginia, Kentucky (in overtime), UConn and UCLA.
It is an experienced team with five of the top six scorers being seniors as the Bulldogs are priced at -1200 in the WCC championship odds.

2. Gaels Hope to Win Another WCC Championship
The first loss of the season for Saint Mary’s came when leading scorer Aidan Mahaney transferred to UConn in a move that made plenty of NCAAB news.
The Gaels own wins against Nebraska, Utah and USC but also lost to Arizona State, Boise State and Utah State. The first of the two matchups with Gonzaga won’t come until February 1 so the Gaels will look to take care of business before that huge showdown. Saint Mary’s figures to be listed by the college basketball betting line as the favorite in each of its games in January.

When looking at college basketball player props, keep an eye on Augustas Marciulionis, the son of former NBA star Sarunas Marciulionis. He has gone from averaging 3.1 to 5.9 to 12.4 and now is at 14.2 points per game.
The Gaels are the reigning WCC champions but the NCAAB odds have Saint Mary’s second at +700 in the WCC championship odds.

3. Best of the Rest
There will be plenty of eyes on former Pac-12 programs Washington State and Oregon State. There were the two teams left behind when other Pac-12 teams headed for greener pastures.
Both the Cougars and Beavers are at +4500 in the odds of winning the WCC title. Washington State opened at +2000 before losing to Iowa, SMU and Washington. Oregon State’s NCAAB odds have moved from +6000 to +4500.
The current No. 3 favorite is San Francisco at +2000. The Dons topped Loyola Marymount and Santa Clara to join Washington State as the only WCC teams with a 2-0 conference record heading into 2025.
Five of the 11 teams have odds at +20000 or +25000 of winning the WCC title so this is definitely one of the more top-heavy conferences in Division I men’ s basketball.
