- How many SEC bubble teams will earn at-large bids into the NCAA Tournament?
- Read on for my March Madness breakdown for SEC teams this week.
Even though Auburn fell out of the top spot, there are still four SEC teams in the top six in the NCAA NET rankings heading into the SEC tournament. The question is whether this conference tournament will top what takes place in March Madness?

The SEC tournament begins with four games on Wednesday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The best of the games during the first round could be the matchup between Oklahoma and Georgia with the NCAA basketball lines favoring the Sooners.
There are seven SEC teams in the top 25 in The Associated Press Top 25 poll heading into the SEC tournament, so there could be plenty of March Madness in this event. Bubble teams will be looking to improve their chances of reaching the NCAA tournament.
Auburn (+350) trails only Duke for the shortest NCAA March Madness odds. Florida (+700), Alabama (+1200) and Tennessee (+1400) aren’t far behind in the NCAAB championship odds.

Is Calipari-Led Arkansas Still on Bubble?
There are seven SEC teams in the top 25 in the NCAA NET rankings and as many as 11 teams from the SEC could make it into the NCAA tournament.

I would say that there are easier assignments than picking bubble teams from the SEC. We will give it the old college try.
Ole Miss has a recent win over Tennessee before ending the regular season by falling by 19 points to Florida. Ole Miss is 27th in the NCAA NET rankings so the Rebels could be in good shape to secure an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament.
No. 34 Mississippi State and No. 39 Arkansas may have done enough to make it into the March Madness bracket. However, both teams have losing records against Quad 1 teams so another win or two before the March Madness field is announced wouldn’t be a bad idea. The college basketball futures odds have Arkansas at +25000 to win the SEC tournament.
Ten of Georgia’s 11 losses have come in Quad 1 games. Even though Georgia has won four games in a row, the Bulldogs are dangerously close to needing to win the SEC tournament to get into the field of 68.
Auburn Heads 4 SEC Teams Expected to Earn High March Madness Seeds
This is a pretty long list with Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama in the top six in the NCAA NET rankings. Auburn and Florida both have 10 wins against ranked teams.
The question is which of those teams will earn No. 1 seeds in the March Madness bracket.

Kentucky is 10-9 in Quad 1 games and the Wildcats are at No. 12 in the NCAA NET rankings. An 8-4 record against ranked teams is an indication that Kentucky could be a dangerous team in the March Madness bracket.
No. 17 Texas A&M and No. 21 Missouri could benefit from going through the rigors of the SEC schedule. Both the Aggies and Tigers have winning records against ranked teams this season, per NCAAB betting trends.
Vanderbilt Could Be Among Bubble Teams Squeezed Out
Vanderbilt would probably be a bubble team with an NCAA NET ranking of 43 in many conferences. In the SEC, the Commodores have to wait in line. A 3-7 road record won’t look good in the eyes of the selection committee.
Oklahoma is another team to take a look at even if the Sooners were just 6-12 in conference play in their first SEC season.
LSU and South Carolina need to win the SEC tournament to have a chance to make NCAA basketball news and gain entrance into the March Madness field.
