With each SEC team playing just one conference game so far, it is a little early to offer any grand statements about the pecking order in what could be the best conference in men’s college basketball when making NCAAB predictions.

Led by No. 1 Tennessee and No. 2 Auburn, there are six SEC teams in the top 10 in the latest Associated Press poll. Four of those teams will be in action on Tuesday. Fourteen of the 16 SEC games this week will feature at least one ranked team with four matchups between ranked teams.

When looking at the NCAA basketball futures odds, Auburn and Alabama set the pace in the odds of winning the SEC title heading into 2025.

Let’s check out my best college basketball picks this week for the SEC.

Top 3 Weekly NCAAB Predictions in the SEC

1. LSU vs Missouri Over is Best Bet on Tuesday

There could be plenty of points scored in the five SEC games scheduled for Tuesday, with each of those matchups having sports betting odds totals over 150.

Much of the focus will be on the Florida-Tennessee and Kentucky-Georgia games but don’t overlook the other three matchups.

Auburn is a 10-point road favorite against Texas thanks in large part to Johni Broome scoring at least 20 points in seven of his last 10 games.

There isn’t much history between the teams with only one previous meeting. That is not the case for the LSU-Missouri and Mississippi State-Vanderbilt matchups.

Per LSU vs Missouri stats, LSU has won nine of the last 11 games against Missouri, but Mizzou has covered in the last four meetings with seven of the last eight games landing over the total.

Mississippi State and Vanderbilt have split the last four games with the home team winning the last three meetings. Taking the game to land over 151 might be the best betting option.

Bet This Pick: LSU-Missouri Over 151 (-110)

2. Game of the Week: Tennessee at Florida

The Pomeroy basketball database has Tennessee as the No. 1 team nationally in defensive efficiency and Florida third in offensive efficiency, so it will be strength against strength when these two SEC title contenders square off.

North Florida transfer Chaz Lanier is the top scorer for Tennessee but keep an eye on 6-foot-11 junior Felix Okpara, the team leader in blocked shots, and 6-foot-4 senior guard Jahmai Mashack, as only three players from the Power-4 conferences average more steals per game. They are two reasons why the Volunteers allow just 56 points per contest, per NCAAB betting trends.

Senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. has seen his scoring average go from 17.6 to 18.3 points for Florida. However, his biggest improvement has come in getting his teammates involved – his assists per game have jumped from 2.6 to 3.9 with his turnovers remaining the same.

Clayton Jr. had a pretty quiet showing the last time he faced Tennessee. When looking at player prop picks, take a look at the points and assists options for Clayton.

3. Mississippi State Guard Josh Hubbard Top Player Prop Option

With BetUS previews of the Florida-Tennessee and Kentucky-Georgia games, we are going to look elsewhere when it comes to the best SEC player prop options.

Mississippi State sophomore guard Josh Hubbard has at least three 3-pointers in three of his last four games. He drained five 3-pointers as the Bulldogs topped South Carolina in their SEC opener, so keep an eye on the 3-point props for Hubbard against Vanderbilt.

Hubbard has -148 odds to make at least three 3-pointers on Tuesday and that could be included in NCAA basketball picks and parlays.
