How good is the SEC? How about the fact that 11 of the 16 games this week in the conference feature at least one ranked team and seven of those contests are between ranked squads. It should make for some tough calls when making NCAAB predictions.

Auburn received 60 of the 62 first-place votes to take over the top spot in The Associated Press poll. No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Florida, No. 6 Tennessee and No. 8 Kentucky are also in the top 10.

When looking at the NCAA basketball futures odds, Auburn (+160), Alabama (+300) and Tennessee (+400) have the shortest odds of winning the SEC title. Auburn (+650) is the favorite to win the national title with Tennessee (+900), Alabama (+1400) and Kentucky (+1800) aren’t far behind.

Let’s check out my best college basketball picks this week for the SEC.

Top 3 Weekly NCAAB Predictions in the SEC

1. Arkansas vs LSU Over is the Best Bet on Tuesday

Just call this Super Tuesday in the SEC with the three games featuring six of the nine SEC teams ranked in the top 25 in The Associated Press poll.

Much of the focus will be on No. 1 Auburn.

Per NCAAB betting trends, Auburn has won eight games in a row and is 7-0 at home as the Tigers play their first game as the nation’s top-ranked team since 2022. Mississippi State is 3-0 on the road this season. Those wins came against Vanderbilt, Memphis and SMU. It is a different deal against Auburn.

Alabama has also won eight games in a row with a home game against Ole Miss and that could factor into the SEC basketball best bets. The Crimson Tide has won seven consecutive games against the Rebels with the last win for Ole Miss in the series coming in 2018.

Will the most competitive of the SEC games come in Lexington when Texas A&M plays at Kentucky?

With BetUS previews of the top SEC games on Tuesday, why not go in a different direction and take the Arkansas-LSU game to land over 148 when making SEC online bets?

2. Game of the Week: Alabama at Kentucky

A top-10 matchup could impact the SEC standings and betting odds. Alabama heads into the week still undefeated at home while Kentucky is 10-0 at home this season.

The teams will have a tough act to follow as they combined for 212 points in the most recent meeting with the Wildcats outscoring Alabama 95 to cover as a 2-point favorite.

When looking at the SEC betting trends, it is worth noting that the last three times that Alabama played at Kentucky, the game landed over the total.

Mark Sears has four straight 20-point games for the Crimson Tide. Since the start of December, he is averaging 22.1 points and 5.4 assists during Alabama’s eight-game winning streak.

When looking at player prop picks, take a look at the scoring odds for Sears.

BYU transfer Jaxson Robinson had a season-high 27 points in Saturday’s win over Mississippi State. He is one of five Kentucky players averaging more than 10 points per game.

Florida Guard Walter Clayton Jr. Top Player Prop Option

It has been a tough couple of games for Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr. as he averaged 9.5 points on 28% shooting (3-of-15 on 3-pointers). However, he is the same player who dropped 33 points in a loss to Kentucky.

Florida has been flying a bit under the radar in the SEC. Those days are over after the impressive showing against Tennessee.

When looking at the Jan. 14 SEC player props, Clayton is a solid choice at -129 to have 17+ points in the matchup with Missouri.
