Syracuse Leading ACC Saturday Menu

Kentucky, Undefeated LSU Both Playing on Road

The Atlantic Coast Conference is one of the most exciting leagues in college basketball and games including ACC teams continues on Saturday with three huge fixtures.

Bettors can enjoy Syracuse vs Georgetown, Kentucky vs Notre Dame and LSU vs Georgia Tech, which will have a big impact on conference rankings.

The early leaders will emerge from the second round of conference games, and NCAA basketball markets are available at the sportsbook.

Syracuse Orange at Georgetown Hoyas

Saturday, Noon ET, Capital One Arena, FOX

It has been a rough start for the Syracuse Orange and Georgetown Hoyas. They have eight wins and eight losses between them, but Syracuse is 1-0 in the ACC.

The win came over Florida State with a 63-60 gutsy effort. The Orange showed their toughness with the win, and although the level of opposition wasn’t strong, it should give them confidence going forward.

The Orange couldn’t back it up with a win over Villanova, but there were positives in the 67-53 loss. They defended well and that’s key against a Georgetown team struggling on offense.

“We’re not there,” coach Jim Boeheim told Sports Illustrated following the loss to Villanova. “But we showed some signs tonight that we can get there, and I think we’re gonna be a lot better in the next two weeks.”

The Hoyas have averaged 72.9 points and scored only 67 in an 80-67 loss to South Carolina last week. It wasn’t a good performance, but they are 3-1 at home, which should give them a boost.

We give the edge to the Orange, who defeated Indiana in double overtime earlier this month. Indiana has since played well against ranked Wisconsin, so the form stacks up in Syracuse’s favor.

We expect the sportsbook to have Syracuse as the slight road favorite, but it will be a tight market.

Kentucky Wildcats at Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Saturday,  5:15 p.m. ET, Purcell Pavilion, ESPN

The Kentucky Wildcats continue their march into the top 10 with wins over lower-ranked teams.

They haven’t been overly impressive, especially when beating the Southern Jaguars 76-64, but they’re doing what needs to be done.

The same can’t be said for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who are riding a three-game losing streak. Losses to Texas A&M, Illinois and Boston College have put the Fighting Irish in a tough position.

Being 2-0 at home doesn’t count for much as they defeated easy teams, so Notre Dame needs to turn its season around.

Losing to Boston College 73-57 is a low point, and despite Dane Goodwin scoring 14.3 points per game, he’s not getting enough help from his teammates. The Irish more from Prentiss Hubb, who averages only three assists per game.

Kentucky has the significant class edge over Notre Dame and that will be reflected in betting online markets.

LSU Tigers at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Saturday, 6 p.m. ET, State Farm Arena, ESPN 2

It has been a fantastic start for the LSU Tigers, who have put last season’s off-court dramas behind them.

The Tigers are a perfect 8-0 and they have pushed into the Top 25. They followed up an overtime win over Penn State by beating Wake Forest and Ohio, but they have yet to play on the road.

They now face a Georgia Tech team that has played all but one game at home, so they’re familiar with their settings. The Yellow Jackets are 5-3 following consecutive losses to Wisconsin and North Carolina.

Last week’s 79-62 to the Tar Heels wasn’t a good showing, so the likes of Michael Devoe and Jordan Usher need to reproduce their best.

LSU relies heavily on its forwards, including Darius Days and Tari Eason. Days leads the Tigers with 16 points per game, so expect to see plenty of ball driven into the post.

Despite playing on the road for the first time, we expect the Tigers to come out humming and hand the ACC team another loss.
