Texas, Iowa State Surging at Sportsbook
It has been another week of unpredictable basketball in the NCAAB lines around the Big 12. Raise your hand if you had West Virginia upsetting No. 7 Kansas.
I don’t see many virtual hands raised, but if it is, hopefully you hit that moneyline action. The Jayhawks once again headline our Big 12 overview, and not for good reason. Despite being a sizable favorite, Kansas sustained a six-point loss to the Mountaineers.
This marks the second upset loss for the Jayhawks in less than two weeks. The defeat dropped Kansas down four spots in the AP rankings.
Kansas has been dreadful in the NCAA basketball lines at 7-12 against the spread. The point total is slightly trending towards the over hitting 10 times compared to nine unders.
Despite some of the upsets, Kansas has shined as the best passing team in the country. The Jayhawks are averaging 20.7 dimes per games, the most of any program in the nation.

All eyes will be on Ames as No. 23 Iowa State plays host to Kansas on Saturday, January 27. The Cyclones are coming off a win over the Jayhawks rival notching an 11-point victory over Kansas State.
Iowa State boasts an elite defense allowing 61.1 points per contest which ranks No. 6. The Cyclones also are No. 5 in steals at 11.3 per game. It is no surprise that the under has been the play at sportsbooks hitting 7 of 12 times in Iowa State’s games. The Cyclones are 7-5 ATS this season.
Texas vs Oklahoma, Jan. 27, 1 p.m.
The other ranked Big 12 matchup on January 27 sees No. 11 Oklahoma playing host to No. 20 Texas Tech. The Sooners have been a solid 11-8 against the spread in the N.
For the Red Raiders, 11 of 18 matchups have gone over the point total. Texas Tech has been right in the middle in Vegas going 9-9 ATS this season.

Maybe it is Horns up after all, as Texas has been on a heater since Rodney Terry’s epic rant. Since losing to UCF, the Longhorns have wins over No. 9 Baylor and No. 11 Oklahoma.
The Longhorns have a chance to notch their third straight win over a ranked opponent with an upcoming matchup at No. 21 BYU. Texas will need to slow down the Cougars’ shooting as the team is one of the best long-range shooting teams in the country.
The Longhorns may be surging but this team has overall been a disappointment to bettors. Texas is 6-13 against the spread on the college basketball odds. These games are trending slightly to the over. The over has cashed 10 times, while the under hit in nine games.
Elsewhere, No. 4 Houston has been an elite defensive squad. The Cougars boast the top-ranked defense allowing just 51.9 points per game.
This helped Houston notch wins over UCF and BYU in recent days. Houston has upcoming matchups against Kansas State and Texas.

Kansas may be a bit inconsistent in recent weeks, but Jayhawks center Hunter Dickinson is still thriving. Dickinson has not missed a beat since transferring from Michigan.
The Kansas big man is second in the latest NCAA basketball odds to win the Wooden Award at +3000, per BetUS. Purdue center Zach Edey is a heavy favorite at -700. Dickinson is averaging 18.8 points, 11.1 boards, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks per game through the first 19 games this season with the Jayhawks.
