Oregon Coming Off Disappointing Effort
The Oregon Ducks were hoping to make a move up the Pac-12 standings, starting with a home game against Arizona State on Thursday. But the contest wasn’t close, as the Ducks trailed by as many as 29 in an eventual 90-73 loss, putting the team at .500 on the season in league play.
“We got beat in every facet of the game,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said after Thursday’s loss. “So, really disappointed obviously. I know our fans are; they should be. That’s not what you expect from our ball team, and our program. Very concerning.“
Senior guard Will Richardson led the offensive effort in the loss with 16 points, three assists and four steals. He’s averaging a team-high 14.7 points and 5.3 assists while also grabbing 4.0 rebounds a game. It was a bounce-back effort for Richardson, who had scored a total of 16 points over the previous two contests.
Center N’Faly Dante will be a key in this one against the tall Arizona front line. Dante is averaging 13.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game and is coming off 14 points and eight rebounds in the loss to Arizona State.
