Arkansas Razorbacks at Tennessee Volunteers Game Preview, Odds, Picks & Predictions

SEC Championship Contenders Meet

The Tennessee Volunteers and the Arkansas Razorbacks enter the final few days of the SEC basketball regular season with a chance to win the conference.

They will need help, but they do have a chance. They are both one game behind Auburn in the loss column heading into Wednesday night. They need Auburn to lose to Mississippi State.

If the Tigers do fall, this Saturday game will be for a share of the SEC title, possibly more if Arkansas wins its Wednesday night game against LSU.

These teams had a recent ferocious battle and are likely to create the same intensity in the rematch. Let’s take a look at the matchup in the sportsbook here and see how this contest could impact March Madness odds.

Arkansas Razorbacks Seek Signature Road Win

This Arkansas team has one of the best home-court advantages in the country at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. Arkansas has recently beaten Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee at home.

However, the Hogs need to show they can beat one of the big boys in the SEC away from home, especially since the SEC Tournament is next week, just around the corner.

Arkansas has to be able to plant its flag in foreign territory. We know that the past two weeks have featured great basketball from this team, but the big games have been at home.

The Razorbacks won at Florida – a bubble team – and at Missouri, a team that won’t play in the postseason. Those are road wins, but not against high-level opposition.

A win at Tennessee would get everyone’s attention heading into the SEC Tournament.

Tennessee Volunteers Carved Similar Path

Tennessee just did defeat Auburn at home to make the SEC race closer. The Vols were down six points at halftime, but they shut down Auburn’s offense in a dominant second half. Tennessee also beat Kentucky very comfortably at home.

Remember that in December, Tennessee beat Arizona at home. The Vols have a lot of high-end wins on their resume, which is why they will be a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee, like Arkansas, has won four of its last five games, and having this game at home gives the Vols an undeniable, albeit slight, edge.

Arkansas Razorbacks at Tennessee Volunteers Head-to-Head

These teams met on February 19 in Fayetteville. Arkansas, playing at home, roared with intensity and held Tennessee to 48 points in a 58-48 win.

The game was close until the final 90 seconds. Tennessee simply couldn’t hit a jump shot, which is something that has happened several times this season, including and especially in games the Vols have lost.

Tennessee has to avoid crippling scoring droughts in this game and in the upcoming March Madness frenzy.
