Bet Florida to Outscore Ole Miss

Both Florida (10-4,0-1) and Ole Miss (13-1, 0-1) are coming off losing their opening game in SEC play. However, for NCAAB predictions, both teams played arguably the two of the best teams in the SEC, which certainly needs to be taken into account.

The Gators faced Kentucky in its last game, losing 87-85, but were favored against the sixth-ranked team in the nation at the time. However, the Rebels were outclassed by Tennessee, losing 90-64 and ending the 13-game winning streak to start the season.

ATS Pick: Florida -2½

Despite the loss to Kentucky, Florida might have improved its stock for college basketball odds. The Gators kept it close for the whole game, pretty much controlling it till the end against one of the top teams in the SEC.

The stars for Florida came to play against Kentucky, which was a big reason it had a lead for most of the game. Walter Clayton and Zyon Pullin each had 23 points while Riley Kugel scored 15 off the bench.

However, with little support from the rest of the roster, the Gators could not hold the lead. No other starter had more than six points, which hurt Florida late while Kentucky surged.

It is also worth noting that at home, Florida was favored in college basketball spreads to beat Kentucky. Florida is seemingly a team on the rise in the SEC, and the close loss to Kentucky might have backed that up. Facing Ole Miss will be interesting, but Florida should have a better game from the supporting cast to help get the win.

Over/Under Pick: Over 157

On the other end of the spectrum, Ole Miss had some interesting college basketball predictions going into the SEC. The Rebels were undefeated and it looked like they could make some noise in conference play.

One game into SEC play and that might have changed. Yes, Tennessee is one of the top teams in the nation and features an elite defense, but Ole Miss was held to under 70 points for the second time this season. The other time was the Rebels’ opening game of the season, and they scored 69 points.

Florida is not at that level on defense, which means Ole Miss should be able to return to form. The two leading scorers for Ole Miss, Matthew Murrell and Allen Flanigan, are averaging over 16 points per game but only combined for 19 against Tennessee. Against Florida, both should get back on track, plus Jaemyn Brakefield is coming off a big 22-point game against Tennessee.

Team Prop Pick: Both teams to Score 70+ – Yes (-264)

This bet should almost feel like a guarantee. Both programs are coming into this game as the top offenses in the SEC, averaging over 75 points. Florida, especially, is having a great season, ranked third in the SEC at 86.2 points per game. Ole Miss is the big question mark due to the offense struggling in the last game. However, the Rebels are the home team and are playing much worse defense than their previous opponent.
