The No. 20 Clemson Tigers continue to pull out wins in close games and another could be in the offing Tuesday when they travel to face the Boston College Eagles.
The Tigers, who are in first place in the ACC, have an 8-2 mark in games decided by eight or fewer points, including three one-point wins. The latest was Saturday vs. Florida State, which saw the Tigers outscore the Seminoles 5-1 in the final nine seconds.
Chase Hunter was the hero for Clemson, which won at Florida State for the first time since 2015 and has won four ACC road games for just the sixth time in 70 years.
Hunter capped a career-high 26 points with a three-point play with four seconds remaining to lift the Tigers, whose lone ACC regular-season title occurred in 1989-90.
The Eagles have been a much more competitive team at home than on the road in ACC play, going 3-2 at Conte Forum compared to 1-4 away from home.
Quinten Post, whose season started on Dec. 31, has taken over as the top scorer for BC on the back eight straight games in double figures and three 20-point games.
The 7-foot forward from the Netherlands, who is one of four players nationally hitting 50% from the field, 40% from 3 and 90% from the line, could have his way with the Tigers, whose tallest regular contributors are the 6-8 Hunter Tyson and 6-7 Ian Schieffelin.

Tyson Tough on the Glass
Tyson contributed 27 points against Florida State, giving the Tigers two players with at least 25 points in the same game for the first time since 2002.
The 6-8 senior forward, who has produced 964 points and 556 rebounds for his career and is seven games shy of becoming the all-time leader in games played for Clemson, has five 20-point games and one 30-point game this season.
An ACC Player of the Year candidate, Tyson is 10th in the nation in double-doubles (11) and tops in the ACC and second in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (8.36).
He registered the first 30-point, 15-rebound performance for the Tigers since Horace Grant had 33 points and 20 rebounds against Wake Forest in 1987.
Zackery key to Eagles’ success
As Jaeden Zackery goes, so too do the Eagles, who are 5-0 this season when the sophomore scores at least 15 points and 3-1 when he attempts at least five foul shots.
The sophomore logged his second game this season with at least 11 points, seven assists and four steals in last week’s 10-point win over Louisville. He is one of three players in the ACC to have such a game and one of just four nationally to do so twice.
Zackery was a sensational shooter from 3-point range as a freshman, making 47.7% of 109 attempts, but that number has plummeted to 30.2% this season.
