College Basketball Betting Parlay: Best Games for Jan. 28

We’ll look to keep the winning streak alive with another College Basketball betting parlay with two underdogs who could cover in a tight matchup. COVID has a strong influence on these online sports betting odds, but one dog I like could use that to their advantage.

Speaking of COVID, be sure to keep updated on college basketball news to see any COVID-related postponements or player absences.

Michigan State Spartans vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights

An intriguing matchup for Thursday has a duel between Big Ten rivals: the Spartans and Scarlet Knights. Michigan State has been disappointing in conference play with a 2-4 record but is 8-4 overall. Rutgers is 4-6 in the conference and 8-6 overall.

MSU last played Rutgers on Jan. 5 and blew the Scarlet Knights out 68-45 although MSU may be missing several players and some staff members. The Spartans haven’t played in over two weeks thanks to quarantine.

While MSU was absent, Rutgers was losing. The Scarlet Knights snapped a five-game losing skid with a gutsy win over Indiana but have failed to cover in four of their last five. MSU is only 3-9 ATS thanks to a skid of its own, but the long break would be beneficial for the Spartans to get back to their early season form.

Under normal circumstances, MSU would be favored but now they’re a slight underdog and that should work better for them.

Pick: Michigan State Spartans to cover +1.5 (-110)

TCU Horned Frogs vs (15) Kansas Jayhawks

Let’s go to the Big 12 where Kansas takes on TCU. The No. 15 Jayhawks are 4-4 in the conference and 10-5 overall with TCU at 2-4 in conference play and 9-5 in total. Both teams are looking to end their three-game losing skids.

Neither team inspires much confidence although it’s worth noting that they both lost to No. 2 Baylor and No. 24 Oklahoma in two of their three-game skid. The Horned Frogs haven’t played in two weeks thanks to COVID.

This is the right game for Kansas, which have looked like posers in the Top-25. But the Horned Frogs have been blown out every time they face a ranked team including losing by almost 30 to Kansas on January 5th.

Kansas is only 6-8 against the spread but has covered in four of its last five victories while TCU has only covered once in its last four games. Jayhawks bounce back in a big way.

Pick: Kansas Jayhawks to win and cover -13.0 (-110)

Stanford Cardinal vs Arizona Wildcats

We head to the Pac-12 where Stanford and Arizona square off in a battle between the third and sixth team in the conference standings. The Cardinal are 5-3 in the conference and 9-5 overall while the Wildcats are 6-3 in the conference and 12-3 overall.

Stanford upset Arizona early in the season despite G Jemari Baker Jr.’s 29-point explosion. The Cardinal had a more balanced attack and managed to limit the rest of the team’s production despite still allowing them to shoot 48.1 percent from the field.

The Wildcats average 80.3 points per game (39th), but committed 17 turnovers to just 12 assists. It was uncharacteristic for a team that usually has solid assist-to-turnover ratios, but credit goes to the Cardinal’s defense.

Arizona is slightly favored again per online betting odds, but the first result was not a fluke. This should be another tight contest and one that the Cardinal can cover. Additionally, to check out more specific information about the NCAAB props available for the Duke vs Miami Florida matchup.

Pick: Stanford Cardinal to cover +5.5 (-110)

College Basketball Betting Parlay

MSU to cover +1.5 (-110)

Kansas to cover -13.0 (-110)

Stanford to cover +5.5 (-110) at +597

This smorgasbord of college basketball betting picks features two slight underdogs and a big favorite in KU. The Jayhawks haven’t been the most reliable betting pick. But, they have an opportunistic matchup here against TCU and should get it done.

Both MSU and Stanford are in matchups that could swing either way. So, it’s conventional wisdom to side with the dogs. The Spartans will be returning from a long COVID break and will start fresh against a reeling Rutgers team while Stanford proved the first time they matched up well against Arizona.
