When Duke travels to Arizona to take on the Wildcats, it won’t just be a battle of ranked teams, but also a battle of preseason All-Americans, as Duke freshman phenom and NBA draft prospect Cooper Flagg squares off with fifth-year senior Caleb Love.

Arizona has been tabbed as a narrow home favorite with a 1½-point college basketball spread.

3 Ways to Bet on Duke vs Arizona on Nov 22

1. Arizona to Win (-120)

Duke’s trip to Tucson marks the second of four games against a ranked opponent six-game stretch. The first saw it take its first loss of the season against Kentucky but followed that up by holding Wofford to a measly 35 points in a dominant win. Jon Scheyer’s squad is led by likely first pick in the NBA draft Cooper Flagg, who at age 17, leads the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. Fellow first-year Kon Knueppel has also been excellent in his first run of games as a Blue Devil, averaging just under 15 points, while veteran Tyrese Proctor has canned half the threes he’s attempted through four games.

While expected to be led by Love, Arizona’s All-American disappeared against Wisconsin, scoring just six points on 15-percent shooting and fouling out. Junior Jaden Bradley, now a starter after coming off the bench in 2023, picked up the slack with 22 points, contributing to his team-best 14.7 average. While lacking a high-scorer (so far) like Flagg, Arizona is built on depth, with a whopping nine players averaging six points or more.

While Duke is a bit more battle-tested, they have yet to play a true road game and must now face an Arizona team that is very good at home.

2. Bet Game Going Over 160

Both teams have high-powered offenses, as Arizona’s is one of the fastest-paced in the nation. The Wildcats’ 94.3 points per game is eight-best in the nation while the Blue Devils’ 88.5 is 26th.

While the numbers show a big defensive disparity, with Arizona having given up over 70 points per game while Duke sits at 58, top-20 in the nation, both numbers are skewed by one outlier game. Prior to giving up over 100 to Wisconsin, the Wildcats had held both opponents below 66, albeit against far less competition. Duke yielding 35 to Wofford makes its scoring defense look great and only Kentucky has scored more than 65 on the Blue Devils in 2024.

For the total points to stay under 160 points, it will come down to how much the Blue Devils can contain the Wildcats. For my NCAAB predictions for today, I believe Arizona’s affinity for fouling and the offensive star power on display will lead to the total exceeding the over.

Bet This Pick: Duke vs Arizona Over 160

3. Bet Arizona to Cover

In being just 1½-point favorites, an Arizona win would likely entail covering said college basketball betting line. One thing to keep in mind is Duke’s poor track record against the spread as road underdogs, losing eight of 10 games when getting between ½ and 6½. We expect said trend to continue.

Bet This NCAAB Pick: Arizona -1.5
