Two teams that have lost their last four games will match up in the Big East conference, which could have an effect on NCAA basketball picks today. Providence (11-6, 2-4 Big East), which was recently ranked in the AP Top 25, will travel to face DePaul (3-13, 0-5), a team without a win in Big East play.
On their home court, favored to win by two points, the Friars lost to Xavier 85-65, extending the team’s losing streak to four. The Blue Demons did not fare much better, losing to Villanova by 25 or more points for the second time this season in a game that ended 94-69.

Providence vs DePaul Pick ATS – DePaul +9½
Picking DePaul to cover in college basketball spreads is not a bet on the Blue Demon. It reflects a lack of faith in Providence and its ability to cover a large spread.
This is a tricky bet given that DePaul has been double-digit underdogs in four games during Big East play and did not cover in any of them. However, it is worth noting that the Blue Demons had to face Villanova twice, Creighton, and UConn – some of the best teams in the Big East.
On top of that, college basketball odds are not completely backing Providence. The Friars’ last game was a total disaster. Providence was favored to beat Xavier on its home court, only to lose by 20. Furthermore, the Friars have yet to win a game on the road this season.
Providence vs DePaul Over/Under Pick: Under 139
It is pretty easy to see why DePaul has a good chance in most games to hit the under in college basketball odds. The Blue Demons only have one player averaging over 12 points, which is Chico Carter, at 12.1. They have undeniably been one of the worst offenses in the Big East, averaging the fewest points per game at 65.7 – 6.2 fewer than the next worst team.
Providence is not much better, averaging 72.5 points, which is ninth in the conference. However, the Friars have Devin Carter, who is averaging 17.8 points. Carter put up 18 against Xavier and Josh Oduro added 20, but that was not enough to change how the team is viewed.
Player Prop Pick: Josh Oduro Over 16.5 Points (-110)
With Bryce Hopkins, who was averaging 15.5 points, out for the season, some of his offensive touches will be given to Oduro. That has already been made clear, with Oduro averaging 14.3 points in Providence’s six Big East games. He even caped that off with 20 points in the loss to Xavier. Expect him to keep putting up solid numbers with extra touches.

Questions Of The Day
Should Providence’s free-throw percentage be considered for prop betting?
Providence has the lowest free throw percentage in the Big East at 67.4%. In a game with a large spread, this eventually could lead to the Friars not covering.
Is there an injury toinfluence the betting odds?
The injury to Bryce Hopkins has hurt Providence, and that could be another reason DePaul has a chance to cover the spread in this game.
