Tigers Look for Bounce-Back Win vs Florida
LSU on Two-Game Losing Streak
The Florida Gators go for a second straight win when they visit the LSU Tigers for a key Southeastern Conference contest on Tuesday night.
Florida snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over Georgia on Saturday and is part of a five-way tie for eighth place in the SEC standings. LSU is also a part of that five-way tie after dropping its last two contests, including a loss on the road to Texas A&M on Saturday.

Both teams need this game desperately. Check out our in-depth preview to help you determine how you want to place your bet online.

Florida Looking for More Offense
The Florida Gators had an offensive breakthrough against Georgia on Saturday, scoring 82 points. That was after a three-game losing streak that saw the Gators average just 58.0 points, showing the importance of good play on the offensive end, which helped them rally from an early 23-10 deficit.
“Staying solid and not quitting,” Florida guard Kyle Lofton said of his team’s effort in Saturday’s win. “We had a few open looks that didn’t drop. We emphasized getting stops on the defensive end and that’s really where it mattered. We got the shots we wanted and they eventually started falling. We started putting pressure on them and the game opened up from there.”.
Lofton had 18 points in the win, one of five Gators in double figures. The senior is averaging 9.2 points and a team-high 3.5 assists this season.
Senior forward Colin Castleton leads Florida in nearly every other major offensive category, averaging 14.7 points and 7.5 rebounds. He also is a presence on the defensive end, averaging 1.1 steals and an SEC-best 3.0 blocks per contest.
LSU Hoping for Better Result
The LSU Tigers ended the 2022 calendar year with a home upset of then-No. 9 Arkansas, improving to 12-1 on the season. Unfortunately, the switch to 2023 has brought losses to the team, as the Tigers have gone 0-2 since that victory, with both setbacks coming on the road.
Senior forward KJ Williams will be a key to LSU turning things around in this one. He leads the Tigers with 18.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest and will be battling Castleton in the paint. Williams is shooting 54.9% from the floor and 49.2% from 3-point range.
Sophomore guard Adam Miller is the other double-figure scorer for the Tigers, averaging 13.3 points. Miller has scored 15.5 points per game over the last two contests.
Senior guard Justice Hill runs the show for LSU, dishing out a team-high 3.5 assists per game. Hill isn’t much of a shooter – connecting on just 32.3% of his field-goal attempts this season – but he can be a pest on the defensive end, averaging 1.3 steals.

Florida vs LSU Head-to-Head
The rivalry between the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers has been fairly even of late, with the teams splitting their last six matchups dating back to the 2018-19 season. LSU earned the victory in the only meeting in 2021-22, winning on the Gators’ home floor last January.
The Tigers have an all-time 66-49 edge against Florida, including a 30-20 advantage when playing at home. The college basketball lines for Tuesday’s contest anticipate a close game, with neither team getting the advantage.
