Gonzaga has advanced to the regionals in each of the last nine NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournaments that were held, with a pair of national title game appearances mixed in. They will be facing a Georgia team that hasn’t won a game in the NCAA Tournament since 2002.

Gonzaga and Georgia have never met in the NCAA Tournament. The last matchup between the teams came in 2014, with Gonzaga winning 88-76 but barely failing to cover when listed by the NCAAB betting line as a 12.5-point favorite.

Gonzaga is listed by the March Madness lines as the 6-point favorite with -275 odds to win outright. Those who live dangerously might want to consider Georgia at +230 and set up a likely second-round March Madness showdown with top-seeded Houston.

Gonzaga is listed at +5000 in the college basketball March Madness odds. Georgia is well back at +30000 in the NCAAB championship odds. Gonzaga (+900) third in the Midwest Region title odds.

Georgia vs Gonzaga Prediction Today March 20

My Prediction

Gonzaga 82, Georgia 74

Those who bet on March Madness should feel pretty good about the Bulldogs advancing to the second round in the March Madness bracket. Will it be the Bulldogs out of the West Coast Conference or one of 14 SEC teams to make the field of 68?

Georgia faced 14 ranked teams this season but lost 10 of those games. The Bulldogs are just 5-7 against the college basketball odds against ranked teams. While Gonzaga is not in the top 25 in the national polls, for the sake of those who bet online, I am going to treat the WCC tournament champions like one.

Georgia has wins over Florida and Kentucky as well as a near upset of Auburn. However, when looking at the NCAAB expert picks, it is hard to pick against Gonzaga.

Top 3 Georgia vs Gonzaga Betting Picks

  1. Gonzaga (-6) vs Georgia
  2. Georgia vs Gonzaga Over 150.5
  3. Georgia vs Gonzaga best point-scorer bet: Gonzaga guard Khalif Battle 14+ points (-110)

My Analysis

Georgia’s Asa Newell is averaging 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds over his last seven games, per Georgia vs Gonzaga stats. Will he get enough help from his teammates for Georgia to hang around against a team with plenty of March Madness experience?

At the beginning of the season, the line on this game would probably be in double figures. We like Gonzaga to not only win outright in our March Madness picks, but to cover as well.

Georgia vs Gonzaga March Madness Best Prop Bet

Ryan Nembhard racked up the assists for Gonzaga this season with 18 double-digit assist games, per NCAAB betting tips. For those who think those numbers came against inferior competition, I’d like to remind you that he had 11 against Baylor, 10 against Kentucky and 16 in one of the matchups with Saint Mary’s.

That is something to consider when making March Madness predictions.

When looking at the college basketball player prop bets, the -118 odds for Nembhard to have at least nine assists in a win by Gonzaga are pretty tempting.

Bet on Ryan Nembhard 9+ Assists (-118)
