The gauntlet that is the SEC schedule features another matchup of ranked teams on Wednesday night, as the No. 23 Georgia Bulldogs take on the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers. Both teams are currently 2-1 in conference play and tied for sixth place in the SEC standings.

Tennessee is an 11-point favorite at BetUS Sportsbook. If you’re betting on the moneyline, you can get the Bulldogs at +500 to pull the outright upset or the Volunteers at -700 for a straight-up win. The over/under for the game has been set at 133½ points.

Georgia is on a two-game winning streak, topping ranked squads Oklahoma and Kentucky. The Volunteers bounced back from their first loss of the season with a four-point win at Texas on Saturday.

Georgia vs Tennessee Bets You Should Make

1. Georgia +11

This pick isn’t saying that Georgia is going to go into Knoxville and pull off the upset. The Bulldogs are good, but the Volunteers are 9-0 at home this season and have won four straight in this series, per NCAAB betting trends.

But Georgia is going to make this a competitive game as Tennessee has not been dominant of late. The Volunteers shot under 45% from the floor at Texas over the weekend and pulled out a close win when you would have thought they’d be fired up after a 30-point loss at Florida in their previous outing.

Freshman forward Asa Newell is going to play a big part for the Georgia attack in this one. He’s leading the Bulldogs in both scoring and rebounding at 15.4 points and 6.8 boards per game. Newell must avoid foul trouble, but if he’s in the game, he’ll be a difference-maker.

It will help the Bulldogs’ cause if their outside shooters can get going. Per the Georgia vs Tennessee stats, the Volunteers are tops in the nation in 3-point field goal defense, limiting opponents to just 24.8% from beyond the arc.

Georgia needs guards Dakota Leffew (12.4 points, 39.2% 3-point shooting) and Silas Demary Jr. (11.9 points, 3.0 assists, 34.0% 3-point shooting) to have big games as well if it wants to compete.

For the first of our college basketball predictions for this game, we think the Bulldogs find a way to stay close, though the Volunteers will end up coming out on top.

Bet On Georgia +11 vs Tennessee

2. Georgia vs Tennessee Over 133½

Tennessee is hopeful that playing at home again is going to get its offense in gear. The 43 points against Florida was easily the team’s worst scoring performance of the season, and getting 74 in a four-point game against Texas was better, but not to coach Rick Barnes’ standards.

But with the home crowd behind them, the Vols should be able to get it going. The guard combo of Chaz Lanier (19.0 points, 43.7 3-point shooting) and Zakai Zeigler (11.9 points, 7.6 assists) is one of the best in the country and will push the pace when possible. Both are solid options in NCAAB player prop picks.

The matchup of Newell and Igo Milicic Jr. (10.4 points, 8.6 rebounds) will be great to watch. Both can take over a game when they get going, and the battle on the boards is going to be intense.

We like both teams to find their grooves offensively after a slow start, so the over of 133½ is definitely in play. In what should be an intense game throughout, make a bet online on the over.

Bet On Georgia vs Tennessee Over 133½

3. Tennessee G Zakai Zeigler Over 6½ Assists (-130)

Zeigler has been one of the best setup men in college basketball this season, ranking fifth in the nation with his 7.6 assists per game. That average would be higher if he didn’t struggle against Florida, dishing out just one assist in 36 minutes of action.

The senior came back with eight dimes against Texas, and he’ll be looking for the same kind of game in this one. When Ziegler is playing well, the Tennessee offense can be unstoppable, and we like him to have another good game in this one.

When playing at home this season, he’s averaging 8.5 assists per contest, including a 15-assist showing just before Christmas in a win over Middle Tennessee State.

There are a lot of good prop picks to make for this game, but the one we feel most confident in is Ziegler going over 6½ assists. Make this prop part of your college basketball picks today and you’ll come away a winner.

Bet on Zakai Zeigler Over 6½ Assists (-130)
