Go with Iowa-LSU Rematch To Land Under in Elite Eight Clash
This is the eighth time – and the first since 2017 — teams that met in the NCAA title game will match up in the following year’s March Madness bracket.
Four times, the defending champion won the rematch. This is the second time the rematch will take place before the Final Four. The NCAAW latest lines list Texas as the favorite to advance to the Final Four.

The teams have split the previous four matchups but three of those games happened from 1985-1990. The only previous meeting in the NCAA tournament came in last year’s national title game with LSU winning 102-85 as a 1½-point underdog.
Iowa, the No. 1 seed in the Albany 2 Regional, trailed for seven seconds in the regional semifinal against Colorado while No. 3 seed LSU trailed No. 2 seed UCLA with 7:25 before rallying for the program’s ninth straight NCAA tournament win.
The college basketball betting lines list the Iowa Hawkeyes as the 1½-point favorite against LSU as was the case in the 2023 title game.
When looking at NCAAW futures odds, Iowa is second at +850 and LSU is third at +1000 in the odds of winning the national title heading into the regional finals.

- Iowa is 2-3 in Elite Eight games.
- Three of LSU’s last five games have gone over the NCAAW lines total.
- Iowa is 1-3 against the Las Vegas odds in its last four games
- Four of the Hawkeyes’ last six games finished under the total.
- LSU is 4-2 ATS in its last six games.

Over/Under Pick: Under 168 (-120)
Iowa is 4-3 outright this season when scoring less than 80 points while LSU is allowing 61.7 points per game in the first three games in the NCAA tournament so a lower-scoring game could benefit LSU.
Both starting guards for LSU in the 2023 national championship game are gone so it will be interesting to see how successful the Tigers are in slowing Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, the highest-scoring player in NCAA Division I basketball history. That is something to consider for NCAAW over/under predictions.
Don’t expect another 187-point game when Iowa and LSU meet again.
ATS Pick: Iowa -1½ (-120)
LSU’s perimeter defense was impressive in the win over UCLA with the Bruins going 7-for-32 in the Sweet 16 loss. With the friendly whistl Iowa star Caitlin Clark gets, don’t expect LSU to be +12 in free throws made and +13 in foul shots attempted.
The game will be determined by how the game is officiated. If LSU can push around the Iowa post players, LSU could win again. However, LaDahzia Williams, Jasmine Carson and Alex Morris combined for 63 points in that game and they won’t be on the court on Monday.
Iowa senior guard Molly Davis hasn’t played since a March 3 win over Ohio State.
