Houston vs Tulane Game Preview, Odds, Picks & Predictions
Houston Continues AAC Road Swing
The Houston Cougars lost star player Marcus Sasser early in the season, a development which clearly harmed their chances of returning to the Final Four after making the big show last March in Indianapolis.
Yet, Houston is still chugging along with only four losses. All things considered, it is an impressive achievement. Now the No. 14 Cougars have to deal with the feisty Tulane Green Wave on the road.

Taking a look at this matchup in the sportsbook, what’s the best option for your college basketball picks?
Houston Struggling Without Sasser
This team is flawed with Sasser no longer in the active lineup but it is tough. Houston scored a 76-74 triple-overtime win over Wichita State on Sunday in which two regular rotation players had fouled out in double overtime.
The Cougars had previously lost at home to Memphis after playing one of their worst defensive games in a loss to SMU.
It has been a rough ride for this team the past 2½ weeks, but the Cougars are not going to let their season completely slip away.
Houston is feeling the strain of the regular season and the wear and tear associated with a smaller rotation due to the Sasser injury.
Players are having to play more minutes to compensate for Sasser’s absence, and coming off a triple-OT game on Sunday, the Cougars have to worry that they will be exhausted against Tulane.
Green Wave Have Some Momentum
The Green Wave have won their last two games, over South Florida in a road romp and over Temple at home in overtime a few days earlier.
Tulane’s win over Temple occurred on a day when the Owls were missing multiple regular players. The Green Wave also lost to Memphis in the past few weeks.
Tulane had a week off between their most recent game against South Florida and this game here versus Houston. The Green Wave will be physically fresh.
Their defense clamped down on South Florida, but the Bulls are a bad offensive team. Against much better offenses from Temple and Memphis, Tulane didn’t fare as well.
It will be a challenge to keep Houston’s offense in check, and that is something to keep in mind when considering whether to bet the over or under, depending on what the total actually is.

Houston vs Tulane Head-to-Head
This game is a rematch of a game played earlier in February, won by Houston. The Cougars prevailed by 11 points in a contest which was fairly competitive but didn’t have any last-minute drama.
Tulane will play this game close if the rematch is like the first meeting, since this second game will be on the Green Wave’s home floor.

Houston vs Tulane Prediction
Houston dealing with fatigue after a three-overtime game, combined with Tulane getting a full week off since its most recent game, is a recipe for a very close contest versus the NCAA odds.
Houston might win, but if you bet online, expect Tulane to keep this very close because of the difference in freshness between the two sides.
