It seems weird to be talking about the Kansas Jayhawks winning to reach the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 tournament, but that’s what they had to do in advancing to Thursday’s matchup with the Arizona Wildcats. Kansas has won two straight after needing overtime to get past UCF on Wednesday night.

This is a rematch of last weekend’s regular-season finale, won by the Jayhawks at home 83-76. The Wildcats would certainly love some revenge for that setback, and they’re favored by 2.5 points in college basketball lines. The over/under has been set at 151.5 points.

Neither of these perennial powers is a big favorite to win March Madness this season. After being an early-season favorite, Kansas currently has +6500 odds, while Arizona is listed at +5000.

Let’s take a closer look at this contest and some of the top March Madness bets you should be making.

Kansas vs Arizona Prediction Today

Both of these teams have been inconsistent this season, but we like Kansas coach Bill Self’s record in March, per NCAAB betting trends. The Jayhawks have won the Big 12 tournament 12 times since 1997, and, while we don’t like Kansas to make that 13 this season, we’ll back Self’s group to at least pull one upset.

Arizona just lost to Kansas on Saturday and is going to have trouble with the size of center Hunter Dickinson inside. Back the Jayhawks to advance to Friday’s semifinal round.

Top 2 Kansas vs Arizona Betting Picks

1. Kansas ATS +2½

Kansas has plenty of experience in this tournament, much of it with success. Self’s squad eked out the overtime victory on Wednesday night and that might be a problem if fatigue hits.

Still, Dickinson is always a threat for a big game after going for 33 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday’s win over the Wildcats. Senior Zeke Mayo led the way vs the Golden Knights, finishing with 24 points and eight rebounds. Mayo was also big against the Wildcats last weekend, going for 20 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Another big contribution on Wednesday night came from junior guard AJ Storr, who finished with a career-high 19 points. The Jayhawks find a way to win in March, and we’re backing them with one of our top NCAAB basketball picks for Thursday.

2. Kansas vs Arizona Over 151.5

The Kansas vs Arizona stats for this season have both teams playing very well on the offensive end, with the Wildcats leading the Big 12 in scoring at 82.0 points per game and the Jayhawks ranking seventh at 76.2 points per contest. They combined for 159 points in Saturday’s matchup, and that kind of output should continue on Thursday.

The Jayhawks aren’t the only team in this fight with a much-decorated senior looking for a last shot at glory. Arizona guard Caleb Love went to the Final Four with North Carolina before transferring to play for the Wildcats. He’s the team’s leading scorer this season at 16.4 points per game, and he can take over a game if he gets hot.

Make sure you make the over one of your picks when you bet online, as these two teams should light up the scoreboard in this matchup.

Kansas vs Arizona Best Player Prop Bet

  • Kansas C Hunter Dickinson Over 19.5 Points (-103)

As he showed on Saturday vs Arizona, Dickinson can put up the points when needed. He’s averaging a double-double at 17.6 points and 10.0 rebounds this season, including averaging 28.0 points over the last two contests.

Dickinson’s ability to hit the 3-pointer is a key as well, making it hard for a defender to match up with him both in the paint and on the perimeter. We like the fifth-year senior to have a big game in this contest to lead the Jayhawks to the upset win.

Make sure one of your wagers on a college basketball player prop is backing Dickinson to have a big scoring game..
